"After trying to get several other companies to answer phone calls and schedule an appointment, the dispatcher was very friendly and quickly took down my information and told me that I would receive a phone call soon, up to 30 minutes before the plumber would arrive at my house. about 2 hours later I received a phone call from the plumber who said they were about 10 minutes from my house. I met them at the house where the plumber quickly determined the problem was a hair clog and he unclogged two shower drains in about 45 minutes. He cleaned up after himself and made sure that the drains were running clear. While trying to open one of the drains the cover was broken, he tried to replace it, but determined that the age of the fixture was too old for what he had on had. He told me he would have to special order a new drain cover. He recommended that I instead visit a home improvement store where i could purchase a generic cover for $1-$2, a much cheaper alternative.

"The job was more extensive than originally anticipated. Travis with MainLine Remodel kept me in the loop the whole time and explained recommendations and followed up with pictures. Travis and MainLine Remodel went above and beyond. I live out of town and rent the property. "AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"On 21 Jan 12, I contacted Bill Casey (www.anytimehandyman.biz) and he quoted me $55.00 to remove an old ceiling fan and install a new one. The work was to be done on 23 Jan 12 at 0945. Bill and his helper arrived exactly on time and they began working immediately. The work took about one hour. They were very careful and definitely knew what they were doing. They removed the old fan, packaging, and tools leaving the work area (master bedroom) immaculate. The remotely controlled fan and light worked perfectly. NOTE: Despite only having only one previous review, Bill said he had over 600 customers in this area (including many military personnel). I recommend prospective customers check out his web page for examples of the kinds of work he will do (just about anything).

"Wilcox came out on labor day weekend to see the damage that we did to the septic cover after running the truck on top of it. They dug it out and got it ready for a new cover. As soon as the cover came in, they installed it and now we are up to code. Mr. Wilcox communicated with us throughout the project."

"The wrong shower tile was installed, the exhaust fan/light was not installed and not left at the job site, grab bar was not installed as requested, work site was left a mess. When concerns were voiced to the owner he stated "That's how we always do it" and that my disappointment was a list of "petty stuff". He advised that his customers were always satisfied and I had yelled and cursed at him which was not the way he does business. I may have yelled, but I was not a satisfied customer and wanted at least some sort of apology or indication that he had some responsibility in not doing the job as expected. That did not happen. Two and a half weeks later, I made a second call. He did offer to "fix" two of my issues (threshold not level with hall floor and install fan/light so that the light would work with the old fan - I had expected to have the new fan and light installed). I declined his offer as I have no faith that his fix will be any better than the work already done. I live out of state and would not be on site to see what was done. Additionally, there is no way for him to "fix" the wrong tile, the fan/light I provided and paid for is gone, as is the leftover paint that I paid for and I have already cleaned/scrubbed walls, floor, toilet, vanity, mirror and light fixture which all had grout or paint left on them.
