"Everything was great! We lost our shop and part of our home several yrs ago to a house fire. We called Mr Greenway and he sprung into action immediately to see that everything was handled correctly. From the beginning till the keys were handed to us, he was more than willing to go out of his way for us. He explained each step of the construction process and made sure that we were happy with the way things were done. He was on time, efficient, and professional while very courteous. Have also used them @ our property in Fla. We would and have recommended him to other home owners. Even through the stress of the fire they put my mind at ease while giving me the kitchen I'd always dreamed of. Great job Brandon & Mrs. Greenway!"

"I am thrilled at the results. Brett arrived early and worked late. His powerful mulched ground up all the brush and hedges I had wanted to dig out. It would have taken me weeks to do what he did in 3 hours. The Bobcat with the mulched attached easily removed and shredded my small trees and weedy bushes. This is an industrial grade tool that has an in closed cab for a professional operator. It is relatively quiet and very safe. It has rubber tracks, so it didnâ t hurt my driveway. The experience was great and Brett was so nice and courteous. My wife is so proud and feels safer with the bushes removed (no critters lurking). This was a professional job. If you like to support people who work for themselves, as I do, this company will not disappoint. Also, Brett is a Marine, polite, tough and resourceful. I will use him again."

Excavating questions, answered by experts

In most areas, you will need a permit for excavation work, even for projects that only involve grading or yard leveling. Permit requirements depend on your local government and the scope of the project, but they are especially common for significant digging or work that could affect utilities or public property. These permits help protect the local topography and prevent drainage issues. An experienced excavation company will typically know whether permits are needed and can often handle the process of pulling and closing them for you. You can also verify permit requirements by contacting your local building department and describing your project.

Prior to excavation, you should prepare the dig site and call 311 before you sign anything.

To get your site ready for excavation, you should move anything in the area that isn’t affixed to the land. You can save money on the excavation by removing hardscaping, including walkways, decks, concrete patios, and paver patios.

Before you carry out any digging, you should call 311 to confirm that there are no utility lines running through your excavation site. Skipping this step could lead to severe injury and property damage if your excavator hits a water, sewage, or gas line.

The best type of soil to build on is a mixture of sand and clay, known as loam soil. Loam soil has the best combination of these soil types to build a foundation on. The clay particles help with water retention, so it won’t erode like sandy soil might, and the sandy particles help with drainage, so you won’t see unsafe soil expansion or have an increased risk of leaks from water sitting against your foundation.

There is no standard depth for burying a septic tank; they are typically buried anywhere from 4 inches to 4 feet underground. The final depth depends on several factors, including the depth of your main sewer line, the height of the bedrock, soil type, local regulations, and the property's landscape. If you plan to grow grass or plants over the tank, a depth of at least 4 to 6 inches is recommended. Deeper tanks can be more difficult to locate, but a septic professional can help find it for you.

Depending on the severity of the freeze and the method used, thawing frozen underground pipes can take anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours. Applying heat directly to the pipe using heat tape, infrared lamps, or hot water jetting can speed up the process. However, patience and careful monitoring are key to avoiding pipe damage.
