"Mr. Diamond came a day late for the quote. I gave him full payment expecting him do come the following Saturday while I was out of town. I called him to see how it was going and he told me it was raining here would do it the next Thursday. Then he said the same excuse and on and on. It's been 2 in a half weeks and still no roof finished. He sent a crew Friday and they left a half poorly done job. Now Mr. Diamond will not take my calls again. I tried to get my money back a week ago but he refused. I have given him more than the benefit of the doubt. With all the storms please be aware of this when you choose your contractor."

The term abatement refers to the steps required to keep asbestos fibers from moving into the air. Although the use of asbestos has declined since the 1980s, it remains in several different types of building construction materials for insulation and as a fire retardant. Typically, asbestos can be found in materials such as ceiling and floor tiles, heat-resistant fabrics and coatings, and roof shingles. You may also find asbestos in textured paint and patching compounds.

Asbestos itself does not typically leak from a roof. However, if an asbestos-containing roof is damaged or deteriorated, it can release asbestos fibers into the air. This can occur when the roof is disturbed, such as during maintenance or repairs, or due to weathering over time. Exposure to airborne asbestos fibers can be harmful to health, so it is important to address any damaged asbestos roofs promptly and safely.
