"Putting a solid roof on our lanai created a pretty weird corner gutter problem that turned out to be a mess. With heavy rainfalls, water was sheeting down a large window. Casey, Kera, and their crew took care of the major problem quickly, efficiently, and professionally. Rain last night still leaked through that odd gutter corner but the issue is significantly improved!! They also added some gutter covering and fixed an existing gutter. All of this was done for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend this company!"

"Excellent job! Professional, punctual and knowledgeable. Frank used quality gutters and he also installed an underground pipe drainage system for 2 of our downspouts so our septic tank won’t take in excessive rainwater. Highly recommend!"

"Zach has done a number of handyman projects around my house for me. Most recently, he fixed a bunch of misaligned cabinet doors, a wobbly ceiling fan, and completed a large ceiling drywall repair after a tub leaked above it on the upstairs floor. He is always punctual, professional, and does excellent work. Highly recommend for any of your project needs!"

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

The average cost to install or replace gutters is around $2,000, with typical project costs ranging from $900 to $7,000. Most companies charge between $4 and $30 per linear foot. The total price depends on several factors, including the size of your home, the complexity of its footprint, the gutter material (e.g., vinyl, metal), and the gutter style (e.g., half-round, custom-built). Additional elements like downspouts, corners, and optional add-ons like gutter guards can also increase the price. The condition of your roof is another consideration, as new gutters cannot be installed on a rotting or sloping roof. While it can be an expensive upfront cost, new gutters are a worthwhile, long-lasting investment for protecting your home's exterior. You can save up to half on labor costs by installing them yourself.

Buried downspouts can freeze during cold weather as cold water runs through them. If you’ve discovered your downspouts are frozen, you can carefully pour hot water down the top of the downspout to defrost them. If that doesn’t work, you may need to dig your downspout back up. Avoid trying to break the ice from the exterior using a hammer as this can cause cracks and damage to your downspout.

To avoid freezing the future, consider adding a heating cable to the exterior, which can adjust heat based on the surrounding temperature.

When it comes to which gutter material is better, the choice really boils down to what you're looking for in a gutter system. If saving money is the most important factor, then your best option is to go for aluminum gutters. If longevity and durability are more important to you, then copper gutters could be the best fit. If you want to customize the color of your gutters, aluminum takes the cake, but if you're looking for a more natural appearance, copper might be a better choice.

Water should not be dripping behind your gutters. Rain dripping between your gutters and the fascia might indicate that the gutters are misaligned with the fascia board or there are loose screws in the gutters, allowing water to pass through. Start by checking for these issues and make repairs ASAP.

Zinc gutters can truly last a lifetime. As one of the strongest materials used for roofing and gutter systems, zinc can last up to 90 years. Even copper gutters don't last as long as zinc gutters. Zinc gutters are a long-lasting investment in both the value and appearance of your home.
