"He explained the process of the repair to me in detail, he also gave me options to choose from and explained the advantages of each choice. He was very professional and kept me informed throughout the entire job. He even showed me a sample of what color the mortar was going to look like before applying it to the joints. The job was quick and proficient. I would definitely choose him again for my repairs. W"

"Mother's back porch was an exaggerated stoop with sun, rain and wind issues. Wesley and Chad doubled it in size and used a partial wall and solar screening on one side to protect it from the elements. With the bright white ceiling, it's now open but protected and a pleasure to use. We were thoroughly impressed with their professionalism, their creative suggestions, their timeliness and their efficiency. Their construction teams were a pleasure to work with--always on time and friendly--men who obviously cared about the work they were doing. Add to all this an estimate that held true and we feel was very reasonable and so allowed us to do more than we originally thought we could. We highly recommend them--just wish there was an A+ on the rating system--they deserve it."

"Jeremy and his crew are the best you will find. They were fantastic to work with and very budget conscious. We cannot believe the phenomenal difference from the old leaking horrible looking deck to the new watertight fantastic looking deck we now have. We have a fully enclosed sunroom below our deck and the deck has leaked off and on for years. Jeremy and his crew found the root cause of the problem and completely waterproofed the deck where we will never have a water problem again. Then they installed porcelain tile to finish the deck and it looks fantastic. I can assure you that as we have future projects of various sizes I will not hesitate to make Jeremy my first call. I cannot say enough great things about the quality, personal service and pride in workmanship that every member of the crew exhibited throughout the project. If I could give them 10 stars for honesty, courtesy and genuinely wanting to produce a lasting product I would."

Wall Repair questions, answered by experts

A retaining wall can only function as a fence if it’s high enough on all sides to prevent someone from accidentally falling into the pool. However, most retaining walls retain dirt, which means their purpose is not related to safety. There would need to be nothing on the other side of the wall for it to be considered a fence, but in that case, it wouldn’t retain anything and would cease to be a retaining wall.

Costs depend on material type, labor rates, and additional features like decorative finishes or reinforcement.

The longevity of flood walls depends on how they were constructed, but most wood, gravel, and cement flood walls last 10 years. While aluminum flood walls may cost far more initially, they can be a good investment as they can last decades and will not be damaged by exposure to the elements.

Costs range from $5,000 to $15,000, depending on size, material, and design complexity.

Most railroad tie retaining walls have a life span of 20 to 30 years, though you may need to replace your wall sooner if it’s repeatedly exposed to heavy rain, runoff, and excess moisture. Railroad ties are typically treated with creosote, which makes them much more durable than untreated wood. Though they last longer, they don’t last forever. For the most longevity, make sure your retaining wall has a sturdy base and steel reinforcements. You should also install drainage to direct water away from the wall.
