"The individuals that came out to service my pond were very professional, on time, honest and very considerate. They were a pleasure to have them work (remove Koi fish from the pond into a holding tank, remove all existing water, clean pond and all filters, clean skimmer, replace new water into the pond and return Koi back into the pond) in our back yard. We would absolutely recommend them without a second thought."

Small jobs welcome

"Lumley did a thorough assessment of the requested before providing his expert recommendation. As a customer I really appreciated his honesty. I could have just had him complete the job as originally requested but I knew his recommendation was the right decision. He came and did the job as promised and even did an excellent job with the cleanup. I would definitely recommend!!!ð"

"Finally decided to contract with Mike. I can say that he did an outstanding job. He even did more than expected without additional charges. Mike installed 4000 sq ft of sod and rebuilt a short fence for me. Mike does it all and his prices are very reasonable. I will continue to do business with Mike in the future for other projects that I will be scheduling in the near term. I highly recommend this gentleman and his team."

"Brian did a pretty good job with the landscaping;, planting of the roses and the building the new retaining wall with new railroad ties. However, he talked me into letting him replace the backyard sod and it was dead grass and never took. A complete waste of $1000. I should have listened to my husband. Brian DOES NOT return phone calls. I am late leaving this feedback, very late, because I don't like to leave less than the best but the prompt asked me to rate my pros when I came back to look for assistance on another project so I felt compelled to do so."

Aquarium Services questions, answered by experts

Although cesspits may be necessary depending on your main sewage system access or nearby soil quality, they carry a few drawbacks. Cesspools require regular emptying and have relatively high maintenance and pumping costs. Certain areas also disallow the use of cesspools and may require you to cover the cost of existing cesspools to be converted into septic tanks.

Most septic tanks need to be emptied every 3 to 5 years, but it’s a good idea to monitor the fill levels of your septic tank all the time. You can do this by installing a pressure level sensor to detect the internal tank pressure, or by having a septic tank company perform an annual inspection to let you know when you’ll need to pump the tank.

There are three layers of wastewater in a septic tank: scum (solid waste that floats to the top of the wastewater), liquid (the relatively clean liquid wastewater in between the two other layers), and sludge (solid waste that falls to the bottom of the wastewater). The buildup of sludge is one of the main reasons septic tanks need to be pumped. If the tank is more than 1/3 of the way full with a combination of sludge and scum, it’s time to call a pro for pumping.

Pumping involves opening the tank lid, removing solids and wastewater, and inspecting components for wear or damage to maintain optimal function.

Using less toilet paper is the easiest way to prevent future clogs. Also, avoid flushing sanitary products, thick paper towels, or hair down the toilet. If you’ve been using a brick in the tank to reduce the water used to flush the toilet, take it out immediately. Bricks will eventually fall apart and clog your toilet drain. Keeping your toilet lid closed also helps avoid future clogs.
