"I would rate him with the highest of marks. Very nice man very prompt and orderly and he got everything done so quickly. I recommend him to everyone. He knows exactly what to do and explain to me a few things that might’ve been issues, but manufacturing flaws. Do yourself a favor don’t get all cut up and sweaty trying to figure it out."

Small jobs welcome

"It did not take a long time to get an appt. I loved talking one on one with everyone who was so friendly and polite. Everyone arrived before the appt time which I loved. The job was completed in a timely manner after the technician explained what he was going to do. Lastly, the technician cleaned up after he completed the job. I will gladly use them again!"

Deck Repair questions, answered by experts

What goes under your floating deck depends on your preferences. Some homeowners put landscaping fabric underneath their decks to prevent weeds from popping up through the boards. Others choose to build a floating deck over grass or gravel. However, it’s best not to set your deck directly on the ground. Instead, set your deck on blocks to keep it elevated enough to prevent moisture from rotting the wood.

Composite decking requires a solid foundation or substructure for support. This base is typically a frame composed of posts, beams, joists, and footings. The frame can be built from various materials, such as composite, plastic, timber, or metal, depending on your budget, deck type, and environmental conditions. For maximum stability, a professional deck builder may recommend installing this frame on top of a solid concrete base. It is best to discuss the most suitable substructure design and materials for your specific project with a professional.

A covered deck can be a good investment that increases your home value—especially if you live in a hot region with a lot of sun. A covering over the deck means you can get more use out of it, even on the hottest summer days. With a permanent deck covering, you can even add ceiling fans to help cool down your deck for added comfort.

Covering your deck with a breathable tarp can protect it from snow, ice, and cold winter temperatures. This is a good winterizing solution if you don’t plan to use your deck at all during the colder months. However, it might be best to skip the tarp if you’ll still be walking on your deck or using it in a limited capacity.

Rotting wood, loose railings, or unstable stairs may indicate a need for expertise.
