"Life Savers!! We live in an older house with a very small bathroom. We had a home inspection recently and were altered to some major subfloor, sill and joist damage. We knew it was in rough shape but the inspector used terms like “100% moisture and “previous repairs poorly completed”. I called a few other contractors and remodel companies that started to throw around some huge numbers and timelines to make the repairs. The consensus from them was the tub would have to be removed before they could do any subfloor repairs. In a house with one shower that wasn’t really an option for us. I saw the reviews for the Crawlspace Medic and decided to give them a call. It was the best decision I could have made. Sharon, Paul and Stanley were great; they made the process very easy and efficient from the initial phone call to the installation. Paul came out to do the initial visit (11/14) and assured me he had seen much worse and his company had developed methods to do all the necessary repairs from underneath the house leaving the current bathroom intact. The quote arrived the same day and was extremely reasonable. They got us on the schedule right away (11/20) and on the day of the repairs Nick and his crew arrived on time and were very professional. The job was scheduled for two days but they completed it in one and did a great job. We no longer have to worry about falling through the floor. They also provide a follow up inspection in 90 days and informed us of a couple other minor leaks that were noticed while completing the repairs. "They didn't end up doing the work. They were really high on what they wanted to do. Other people who looked at the porch said that it was not causing an issue with any water intrusion and that there doesn't seem to be any signs on the posts that this could have been recent, it could have been long ago. So no work was done. It was a front porch that had just the level concrete on one side was dipping just a little bit. I think they were going to pump it up from underneath or something like that to level it out. I would say that their response time and their professionalism of getting the quote to us on a timely manner was good. The quote was high and yet the work was not necessary according to other quotes. They should be honest to say when repairs are necessary and when they are not. The guy who showed up was nice and professional and was on time. There was a decent response time."
"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."
