I was offered a bit of a discount on some extra carpet that was sitting around the store for a while and he wanted to move it. His price was an installed price. It included everything. No nickel and diming based on the phase of the moon, or extra travel, weird room shape, etc. His price was very competitive compared to others. It was a mostly vacant house. I gave them 50% down on an AMEX card. They showed up on time for the measurement as well as the install. After the install I drove down the next day and gave them the other 50%.
