"We hired Lou (Fernald Homes) after receiving 4 other estimates for our complete kitchen/breakfast nook remodel. We also had carpeting throughout the house replaced with luxury vinyl flooring and had the dining room and living room painted. The cost was competitive and what we expected. We are very happy we chose this family-owned business. Lou and his son Jess are very friendly, professional, and easy to talk to. Lou arranged and scheduled all the contractors (electrician, plumbing, construction, painters, flooring install) and was present and overseeing everything each day someone was here. He has worked with his contractors for years and they all did excellent work! The total remodel was done in a timely manner and Lou kept us informed every step of the way. He was great with returning our calls. He also had some great suggestions for the kitchen layout. Lou also made sure we were happy with everything. We had a few issues that came up along the way which were corrected immediately to our satisfaction. Even though it can be stressful doing a remodel it was a pleasant experience and we really enjoyed working with Lou, his son, and his contractors.
