"These guys are liars and crooks. Benjamin Franklin rep told me a tech would come out and give me a free estimate for work on a hot water heater that had stopped heating. The tech showed up and spent 10 minutes testing some electric contact points. Said he thought it might be the digital control unit, and showed me some replacement units on his phone, and gave me an estimate to install a replacement. I told him I'd think about it. He then tells me I owe a $271 diagnostic fee. No diagnostic fee was ever mentioned by the Ben Franklin rep. I paid it to get rid of the guy, but as far as I'm concerned, they robbed me. I then researched the company and found out they're a private Equity company that bought up a bunch of local plumbing businesses. These guys are thieves. "

"I would give these folks twenty stars if I could. They were professional, thorough and reasonably priced....most of all they provided a solution for a clogged, compromised sewer pipe that otherwise could have been disastrous. My recently purchased house was built in 1968 and soon after moving in, the drain kept clogging. After jetting the line and an initial de-scaling/cleaning attempt, the video that was taken revealed that my sewer pipe under my slab was severely compromised, fractured and with holes in multiple spots. Other tradespeople I spoke with said that my floor and slab would need to be cut open to dig out the old sewer pipe and replace it with PVC---an ENORMOUS expense and undertaking.I am so glad I called Jax Hydro-Jetters. They were able to re-line the existing sewer pipe with a strong, durable coating without disrupting my home. Problem solved. I can't tell you the peace of mind they brought to me and my husband. Depending on the home, wastewater either goes into a septic tank and seeps back into the backyard or is sent via sewer system to a local sewage-treatment plant. Septic systems naturally separate different components of the waste so that it can naturally and safely disperse it. You can find biodegradable drain cleaners at your local home improvement store or online for those drains that need a little more oomph. 

While on the hunt for a formidable drain cleaner, the best options are non-chemical clog solutions that combine enzymes and bacteria.

If your drain doesn’t have metal crosshairs or crossbars, you should use a tub drain extractor. These tools create a grip on the drain so you can turn it using a 1/2-inch ratchet drive, drain key, or wrench. Your drain may not have crosshairs if it's old and broken.
