"It's hard to find somebody you can trust these days everybody wants a quick buck and do very little, I can't begin to tell you the Contractors who have ripped us off over the last 10 years but every now and then you find one who actually cares and B&M Wells Pumps and irrigation certainly was a Great choice we got lucky. He arrived at the exact time he said he would and called in advance before arrival. He quickly discovered the problem and initiated a plan for repair. He was very methodical when beginning the repair. I noticed he double checked each step and cut no corners. He also maintained a very positive up beat attitude through out the process. Unlike any plumbers we have used in the Baker and surrounding counties he actually was very knowledgeable and knew what he was doing, and was great at explaining well and pump operations. I highly recommend Brandon (B&M Wells, Pumps & irrigation) for your home repair needs. Thank you Home Advisors for the recommendation. Might I also stress to the people PLEASE read the reviews. We offer an overheat protection switch to keep your pumps protected. Our price point is far better than what would cost you to replace your well and centrifugal pumps. Preventive care is always better than reactive care. Aside from distributors and pump manufacturers, we don't have return clientele because our switch works perfectly. 5 minute installation and a product made in USA that is less than $200. Patented product.

Wells and Pumps questions, answered by experts

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends testing your well at least once a year to check for bacteria and contaminants. If you live in an area prone to flooding, runoff, or any other environmental concerns, it can be a good idea to check two to three times per year.

Age is certainly a factor in well pump failure. The older your pump, the more likely it is to fail.

Beyond age, other factors can cause your well pump to fail, too. Things like poor water quality can cause sediment buildup in your pump. Without proper cleaning, your pump can seize up and fail. Having a dry well for too long can also cause your pump to fail, as it keeps working even though there's no water for it to pull.

Wells should be at least 100 feet deep for drinking water, but they may need to be deeper depending on the local geology, water quality, and your household’s water usage. Work with a qualified well drilling professional who can assess the appropriate depth for your well and test the water before drinking it.

Repairs typically take 2-4 hours. Complex issues may require additional time.

You should check water pressure twice a year to ensure there aren’t any irregularities and that it isn’t too high. It’s also smart to check it any time you notice symptoms of high water pressure (like banging pipes, inconsistent water flow, and leaky fixtures). Similarly, if you live in an area that’s prone to water pressure fluctuations due to municipal supply changes, elevation, or seasonal temperature shifts, check it more frequently. You can buy an affordable water pressure gauge and check the water pressure yourself.
