"I had called around for quotes on a sliding glass door repair. This gentleman was the only one who called me back right away. He gave me a ballpark figure on the phone. We set a date for him to come out and look at my door, I spoke to him about replacing the door, he assured me that he would fix my door and I would be happy and there would be no need to replace the door. He was sooo right, he not only arrived early, but answered any question I asked and he didn't make me feel as if I was bothersome. I am happy with the repair and I even got a new handle that matched the new esthetics of my home decor. Excellent experience, great job, very happy!!..Thanks again.."

"My experience has been excellent! The windows and door are beautiful and very well installed. Brandon is amazing and was prompt, professional, and did a beautiful install. He and Brian cleaned up after themselves and left no mess. Everyone at the company has been helpful, professional, knowledgeable, and quick to respond. My salesman mark q beat the price of 4 other quotes. I would highly recommend the window depot!"

"I was struggling to open my sliding glass door because it had become so heavy that it was actually hurting my arm every time I used it. They came out the same day, repaired the door, and now it slides effortlessly. Professional, honest, and reasonably priced. I?m very happy with the service and would definitely recommend them."

Door Repair questions, answered by experts

Butterfly hinges are one of the most common types of hinges and you can use them all over your home. Though they’re common on doors, cabinets, and shutters, you can even find them on decor, like jewelry boxes, music boxes, and trunks. Doors may have basic butterfly hinges, while the hinges on cabinets and decor may be more ornate.

While cabinet door hinges come in many shapes and sizes, they typically have some adjustment options, so check your hinge design thoroughly. If you find hinges without adjustment screws, they’re often amateur works or very simple constructions. In these cases, you don’t have as many options. You can try unscrewing the hinges and carefully repositioning them with the help of a level to fix cabinet door issues. But it may be easier to replace the hinges entirely rather than go through this tedious process.

Most door knobs can be removed with a Phillips or flathead screwdriver. If you don’t have either of those available, a paper clip or small pin can sometimes work, but the extra effort may not be worth a quick trip to the hardware store.

The lock block will either be built-in on the side of the door or run from the top to the bottom. Usually, there is a marking that indicates its location. You can also tap the door with the back of a screwdriver to find the lock block like you would find a stud in a wall.

While it may seem counterintuitive, adding moisture to the warped area of a door actually helps to fix it by allowing the wood to expand and contract. Moisture helps loosen the fibers in your door to make them more malleable. This process can help you get the wood back to its original shape.
