Parker Brothers Roofing & Construction, Inc. has been servicing Tallahassee and the surrounding counties for more than 20 years. We have our own employees to complete your project and work closely with local lending institutions to provide you the most competitive financing rates available at the time of purchase. "Not Good at all. Start to finish over 30 days, crew was sub-standard, left yard in a mess with nails and debris all over the place (still finding nails), they damages gutters and covered up Metal Flashing with a 2/4 boards. Shingled over rotten plywood instead of replacing it (yes, they were called back to redo). Terrible Craftsmanship!"

Chimney Caps questions, answered by experts

Ideally, you shouldn’t pay your roofer upfront unless you’re special-ordering materials. However, anything between 10% and 15% of the project’s cost is reasonable to pay upfront. Avoid making a final payment until after the roof gets completed.

Some people prefer to use connectors consisting of galvanized metal to replace the birdsmouth cuts on the rafter board. Common names for these metal pieces include hurricane ties and variable-pitch connectors. Making birdsmouth cuts is more cost-effective than purchasing these connectors for each rafter. However, because making large birdsmouth cuts to accommodate extra-wide exterior walls can weaken the rafter, a connector may be the better option in some cases.

There are several signs that indicate you’ll need new underlayment. Clear signs include missing or damaged roofing and exposing the underlayment to the elements. Additionally, if you notice water damage in your home by the roof after a storm, it could indicate that your underlayment may need to be replaced. If your gutters aren’t draining properly, it could also lead to rotting or water damage to the underlayment.

Tile roofing is durable, fire-resistant, and energy-efficient. It also adds aesthetic appeal and, with proper maintenance, can last 50-100 years.

Wood shake roofs are durable, energy-efficient, and offer a natural aesthetic. Composite options provide similar looks with less maintenance.
