"I did quite a bit of research before hiring. Was refered to Phipps Masonry & Stucco for a masonry project and was delightfully surprised by the estimate. A fraction of the price of other contractors. I had a bad leak and they fixed it and put new mortar in my chimney all in a day. Fast workers and easy communication. I'm hiring them to fix some stucco on the side of my house next"

"We hired Creation & Renovation to create a patio in our backyard. Marcia responded to our request quickly and kept up updated every step of the way. Fabian and his crew were fantastic and created a patio that was beyond expectation. My wife loves the work that was done. Fabian is one of the nicest people that we've met and he made sure that we were completely satisfied with the work and cleanup afterward. We certainly would hire and recommend Creation & Renovation for any work in the future."

"Luis and his team did a wonderful job expanding our driveway and front porch, matching the color, and replacing an old broken concrete path around the side of the house with a wider one of pavers. Everything was done with care and we are delighted with the result."

"They came and tried to raise the sidewalk slab and make it even with the slab next to it. No matter how they tried the slab wouldn't move. They tried for the longest time, but with no luck. They advised would return the next morning and fix my problem. Early the next morning they returned with a special cement saw and made a cut. When they pumped more material in the sidewalk slab raised. However a little to much and they had too raise the slab adjacent so it would be even. It ended up  both slabs now  are raised a bit and now looks like we have a small bridge. Even with that, there is not a chance anymore that someone could trip on the sidewalk.
The crew that came out was excellent. They cleaned any mess made in the grass and sidewalk. Couldn't be any happier with them. They kept me informed on every step that was happening. We'd use LRE again, and would recommend them too family and friends.
There office employees are also great. When they said, " I'll call you right back," they did. All questions were answered. I was not charged and more than the original estimate, even though more work was done to correct problem.
The only reason I gave the quality a "B" is because of the bridging in the cement slabs.
"
The homeowner's driveway had endured years of wear and tear, resulting in discoloration and numerous cracks across the surface. Additionally, the concrete slabs had become uneven due to the soil settling beneath them.
Due to soil settlement and poorly placed control joints, the customer's driveway had significant cracking. You can see that some stains have formed, indicating that the concrete lacks sealant protection.
The homeowner knew that their home's addition had experienced settlement damage when vertical cracks appeared on the exterior walls.
The homeowner became alarmed when they noticed stair-step cracking patterns emerging from the window frame in the exterior wall of the home.
Upon noticing significant cracks developing in the walls, the homeowner became concerned about their foundation's condition.

Masonry questions, answered by experts

You should clean your home’s brick once per year. This applies to exterior brick, but also to cleaning brick fireplaces. Create a homemade cleaning solution with equal parts vinegar and water. Use a soft-bristle brush to scrub the solution into the face of your brick and remove dirt, algae, and stains. Cleaning will protect brick from damage and boost your home’s curb appeal.

Masonry uses units like bricks, cement blocks, and stone with mortar between them. Mortar is generally made of sand and a type of cement. Examples of masonry include the brick or stone on a house, chimney, or freestanding wall. Concrete is a mixture of water, sand, stone aggregate, and other materials, and is poured into forms or moldings. Types of concrete applications include driveways, garage and basement floors, and poured concrete walls in basements and crawl spaces.

The best tool for drilling into brick or mortar is a rotary hammer drill which is a large hammer drill with low rotation speed and high torque. Regular drills with a hammer function are also excellent tools for drilling into brick when the diameter of the hole is 1/2 inch or less. It might be possible to drill into brick with a standard drill if you’re only drilling a very small hole, but note that masonry work will put a lot of wear on a standard drill, and the tool may not be strong enough to get through brick.

Drilling into brick or mortar requires the use of a masonry drill bit. Masonry drill bits appear similar to standard drill bits except for the leading tip of the bit. The tip has a bulky carbide arrow-shaped end slightly larger than the rest of the bit shaft. Standard or high-speed drill bits designed for making holes in wood or metal don’t have the ruggedness or design shape you need to drill into brick. They may not go through the brick at all, and if they do, they’re more likely to overheat, crack, or dull before you finish drilling.

You may not need a hammer drill if you’re planning on drilling one or two very small diameter holes in brick. For holes with a diameter of 3/16-inch or less, a regular drill with a masonry bit can do the job. However, the bit will heat up quickly, and the process will take significantly longer than with a hammer drill. Prepare to cool your drill bit down in a bucket of water more often.
