"We needed our sewer line replaced. The estimate we received from the company we had been using was astronomically high. I called a few places and Pipedex promptly returned my call. They came out the day after Christmas, when their office was still closed for the holidays. My husband is in a wheelchair, so digging up our floors was not an option. They were able to reroute the sewer line and replace all our plumbing for 1/3 the price of our old corporate plumbing company. Aleks, Serge, Junior, Dalton and Ivan are masters at what they do. They were all courteous and respectful of our home. They finished on budget and we couldn’t be more appreciative."

"We had recent problems with the water softener not functioning, increased staining, and sulphur smell, and were concerned the filtration system might be compromised. Even though we had purchased the system from another company 5 years ago, Ken Gibson at EcoWater had one of his folks here within 48 hours. Dave Parker, EcoWater's Area Manager, took the time to understand exactly what we had been experiencing, did a thorough water quality test, clearly explained the results, did an amazing job of explaining why each issue had developed, exactly what should be done to correct the issue, and gave us written estimates of each option. No high-pressure tactics; analysis and recommendations were based on simplest, least costly, most effective solution.
We have owned four homes and a business building in our lives, and have worked with a number of very good plumbing firms. Dave Parker was hands-down the most knowledgeable and professional of them all. Our sincere thanks and highest recommendation to Ken Gibson and his team at EcoWater.

"Could not be happier with the service provided by Ed and his team. Ed is easy to talk with, doesn't BS around, and provides a fair price estimate (lower by far than the other three companies from whom I received quotes). The install team led by Bryan installed the system quickly, and the work was top quality (included diverting the main line to side of house and partially burying the tank). I would definitely work with Ed again, and highly recommend Ed and his team for all your water softening needs."

"They did a great job. Understood my concerns and addressed everything I needed done. Installed a retaining wall to address a steep drop in elevation between our property and the neighbors that was causing soil to press against the fence we are going to replace. Needed to have some pipes installed to take the rain water from the downspouts to alley too. Also had them install shell down the sides of the house. Everything done well. Good company. I would hire them again."

Foundation Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

If you hire a professional, installing a new sewage ejector pump costs $850 to $3,500, or an average of $2,300. Otherwise, if you handle the installation yourself, you can expect to pay $500 to $1,000 for the sewage ejector pump, permits, and other supplies required for this DIY project.

A sump pump battery backup can typically run for 6 to 24 hours. The factors that affect its runtime include the battery capacity and pump usage.

When purchasing your backup system, take these factors into consideration to determine which system is best for your home. If you live in an area with frequent and long-lasting power outages, consider a longer-lasting backup battery.

There are a few possible sump pump drainage locations, including a neighborhood storm drain, into a creek or pond, or underground. Don’t let your sump pump water go into your sewer or septic system. Ideally, your drainage spot should be on a downhill slope that’s at least 10 to 20 feet away from your home’s foundation. Before choosing a location, check your local codes and regulations.

Basement toilets don’t always need a pump. However, it is the most common setup because plumbing systems use gravity to move waste away from the home. Basement toilets often sit below the home’s main sewage system, and installing a sewage ejector pump pushes the wastewater and sewage up to the main sewer line. Alternatively, you can use an upflush or macerator toilet that breaks down the waste and pushes it straight to the main sewer line rather than via a sewer line from the bathroom.

Yes, it’s possible to install a sewage ejector pump outside rather than in a basement. However, there may be some extra steps involved, including running pipes from the inside to the outside of your home and digging (and re-filling) a hole for the basin. If you aren’t comfortable with this type of work, contact a plumbing pro to handle it for you.
