"Smart Cell Repair does not stand behind their professed, "90 day warranty". Printed on the receipt "All returns have a 25% restocking fee 14 day return policy, for all purchases, backed by a 90 day warranty..." the complete terms and conditions of the "Repair Policy" are not fully printed on the receipt and not provided to the customer. My daughter had the cracked screen of her iPhone replaced at this shop on April 20th. About a week ago, she placed her phone on the counter for the night to charge, still in the OtterBox defender case. No one used or touched it. The next morning we noticed a hairline crack in the screen. Due to busy schedules and all of the panic happening lately, she was unable to immediately take it back and the crack seemed to worsen. When she took it back today, she was told by the owner's brother, that she did not meet the "conditions of the warranty" because there were "no pieces or chunks of glass missing" yet the conditions of the warranty were never specified, as to what was and was not included. How convenient that she did not meet these unstated "conditions." In addition, the receipt states that the purchaser agrees "to the terms and conditions of Smart Cell Repair, LLC Manufacturer Warranty" of which were also never provided. I guess this is the loophole they utilize in order to appear to be an ethical business and warranty their repairs and materials. When that is not the case. In actuality, they are more than happy to correct the problem, as long as you are willing to hand over more cash."

Phone Repair questions, answered by experts

A cellphone repair technician is the person that typically repairs phones, and there are specialties within that position, like a cellphone screen repair technician. In most cases, you can send your phone to your manufacturer for repair, but this option usually takes significantly longer and costs more than hiring a local cellphone repair specialist. If you choose a reputable repair technician, the repair will be more or less identical to what the manufacturer would provide.

Many contractors offer warranties for parts and labor. Confirm terms before hiring.

Smartphone repairs average around $150 but can range from $50 up to $500 or more, depending on the extent of the damage and what’s wrong with your phone. To repair a cracked screen, you can expect to pay between $100 and $350, while a charging port replacement can cost between $20 and $100 for materials and labor. Repairing water damage can reach up to $500 or higher for a significant problem, and in some cases, heavy water damage isn’t repairable. A phone repair tech should be able to inspect your device and give you a quote for the work.

Yes, it’s usually more cost-effective to repair a cellphone than replace it entirely. Phone repair services can be costly, depending on the extent and type of damage, but you’ll almost always spend less on repair than on replacement. Plus, replacing the phone might not help if the problem lies with your service provider, such as issues like dropped calls or poor network connection. However, it’s worth repairing your phone for mid-level issues like a cracked screen, damaged headphone jack, or smashed charger port.

By using secure backup and encryption procedures during service.
