"Wonderfully easy and breezy pool experience. Travis is super friendly and knowledgeable. He turned my pool from green to clean and diagnosed and promptly repaired a timer issue I was having. Truly an amazing pool maintenance company and I highly recommend them!"

"The owner Ben did an immaculate and correct job on my front yard. The curb appeal is amazing I would say. He was accurate from estimate to final work. It was an absolute pleasure dealing with him and would do it again in an instance. I highly recommend him for any landscape jobs that you may need"

"Once again Richard has come to the rescue! Our solar equipment for the swimming pool had a bad leak and he repaired it within an hour! He has to be the most honest and genuine professional I have met. He had previously installed a handrail for the pool and it's a lifesaver! Thank you Richard for another job well done! Your pricing is something everyone can afford!"

"Getting the service provider to schedule the work, order the parts, and perform the service under warranty was far too time consuming and difficult.  They don't return phone calls, they have lots of excuses (no parts, new employees, new management, etc).
BUT the technicians are great, fast, and good!
And I got so frustrated that I found someone else to do the work, but only Florida Solar had the parts!  So I was stuck with them.

"I've had several companies maintain my swimming pool over the past 15 years and J and Sons Pool Cleaning is absolutely the very best of them all... by a long shot! One of the things that stands out with this company is the high quality of service. The technicans test the water each week and add just the chemicals that are needed. Unlike the previous companies that just pour a 2 gallon jug of chlorine in the pool and call it done. Thanks to J and Sons, now when my family and I swim in the pool, the pool water does not burn our eyes or leave a film on our skin. Plus, this company's rates are very reasonable for the high quality of service provided. I highly recommend this company to anyone who values their pool, and their money!"

Pool and Spa Servicing questions, answered by experts

Hot tubs don’t necessarily add value to a home—but they don’t take it away either. It depends on the potential buyer. A well-landscaped in-ground hot tub is attractive to buyers who prioritize relaxation and fun. Others would rather not deal with the maintenance.

Yes, hot tubs can use a significant amount of electricity, primarily to keep the water heated. A typical hot tub uses between 1,500 and 6,000 watts, and the pump can add another 1,500 watts. This usage can result in a monthly cost of around $20 to $30. The exact amount of electricity consumed depends on several factors, including the hot tub's age, size, heater voltage (120V vs. 240V), usage habits, and thermostat setting. Newer, energy-efficient models generally use less power than older ones. To reduce electricity costs, consider investing in an energy-efficient model, using a quality insulated cover with a thermal blanket, and keeping the filters clean.

Hot tub maintenance can cost between $500 and $1,000 annually. These costs typically cover deep cleaning the tub, refilling it several times a year, and maintaining the water's chemical balance. While you can perform maintenance yourself, a professional can clean and treat your hot tub with chemicals to save you time. The biggest expenses are often heating and repairs, but regular maintenance can help you avoid more complicated and costly repairs and preserve your investment.

Hot tub heaters typically last seven to 10 years, though some might only last five years if not properly maintained. You can maximize your hot tub heater’s lifespan by ensuring the water’s pH level is properly balanced.

Though a hot tub has many benefits, there are a few cons. Mainly, hot tubs require a lot of maintenance. You’ll need to deep clean yours quarterly, test the pH at least once or twice a week, and add sanitizing chemicals once a week. They also have relatively high ongoing costs since you’ll need to pay for electricity and repairs.
