"Luke, the estimator, was fair and thorough in his explanation of the costs involved. Rafael and his partner did an outstanding job of replacing the gutters, and both were extremely kind gentlemen. Finally, Tina Hughes, the telephone secretary, treated us like family, and was more than glad to answer any questions. KUDOS TO THE BROTHERS WHO JUST DO GUTTERS! I wholeheartedly recommend them for any gutter job."

"On time for estimate. Took measurements and gave me a quote. Original time line for the installation was several weeks but Guttergirl notified me of an opening and the job went off without a hitch. The installers arrived and got straight to it. They were finished in 1 1/2 hours. Very pleased with my experience. Will recommend Gutter Girls in the future."

"I hired Ken Mathis to clean, resand and apply a sealant to the pavers on our pool deck. A previous company had done a horrible job and had left our patio a mess. Ken and his crew went above and beyond to remove the old sealant, clean it all up and apply a new sealant. Our pavers look like new and we couldn’t be happier with the results. The crew worked hard, were professional and courteous . I highly recommend this company."

"Excellent, quality service & product! The professionalism and the fact that he’s a Vet with a focus on quality, timeliness, & value/cost … he stands behind it & is proven to perform at that level. Not just “talk” but actuals to back it up. There are many fine folks out there … this cat is certainly one & he more than “exceeds the standard.” I support & absolutely recommend AMR Gutters. ~Buzz~"

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

Gutter repair costs around $400 on average, and prices range from $200 up to $650 in most cases. You can expect to pay between $4 and $30 per linear foot. The best way to get an accurate estimate is to have a professional come out to price your project. Some factors that influence your total include the following:

  • Number of linear feet of gutter to repair

  • Gutter style

  • Gutter material

  • Accessibility of the gutters

  • Whether you have seamless or seamed gutters

  • Type of necessary repairs

Yes, caulking or sealing your vinyl gutters is a good way to help prevent gutter leaks. When you’re installing gutters, it’s important to overlap the sections to help avoid issues like leaks or drips, but they can still happen. In this case, adding caulk can help. Make sure to use a caulk designed for multiple surfaces, like a silicone-based caulk. You can also purchase a gutter sealant as well, which is specifically designed for this purpose.

Gutters should not drip at the seams. This problem could indicate that water is collecting in the gutters instead of moving to the downspouts. You could have leaves or other debris blocking the flow of water at the seams. Try cleaning the gutters, adjusting the slope, and sealing any holes or cracks in the material to fix this problem.

Buried downspouts can freeze during cold weather as cold water runs through them. If you’ve discovered your downspouts are frozen, you can carefully pour hot water down the top of the downspout to defrost them. If that doesn’t work, you may need to dig your downspout back up. Avoid trying to break the ice from the exterior using a hammer as this can cause cracks and damage to your downspout.

To avoid freezing the future, consider adding a heating cable to the exterior, which can adjust heat based on the surrounding temperature.

If you are experiencing minor issues with your gutters, such as a small leak or cracks in one or two sections, it makes more sense to repair the issue than to replace your entire gutter system. However, you may need to replace your gutters if they’re frequently detaching from your home or if you notice a buildup of mold or mildew in your basement.
