"We contacted Florida Woodworks to build kitchen cabinets for our home. The existing cabinets were partially damaged when we had a water pipe break in our wall. Jack and his son Zack did an excellent job at demolishing and installing new custom made wooden kitchen cabinets. They are both very professional and polite. The project was priced "right" and the quality is excellent. We highly recommend this company and rate it a 5 star for quality; customer service; value for money; overall."

"Southern Rust Woodworks has the best custom built products around. I have several pieces he has made for me, and I get asked all the time who did them and how to contact him. He can make anything you want! Or if you donâ t have an idea, he has great ideas himself. My house is basically a Southern Rust Woodworks showcase. Love all my pieces and they are excellent quality. Love all his products!!!"

"Did an outstanding job installing crown molding throughout our home plus some drywall finishing. The finished work looks great. Nick was very professional, courteous, and efficient. We look forward to hiring CNC Construction LLC again for future projects and would highly recommend."

"This guy is the best! My 20 year furniture looks brand new. No one else would take on the work. This company did and nailed it (no pun intended). Highly recommend. Couldn't be happier. A+"

"Berto was great! I sent pictures of work needed and locations, sent pics of materials for the job. Got instant quote and they had Berto on his way the same day. He is a highly recommended carpenter. I will be calling for more projects in the works. Flawless work. A plus Rating."

"Custom built my fish cleaning table, repaired and replaced dock boards, and redid my firepit with french drain and stablized it. Excellent work and I am very pleased. Every single worker was great: polite, friendly, hard working, knowledgeable, diligent. It was alot more involved than anticipated and the cost almost doubled. They charge by the hour per worker rather than a firm fixed price contract so just keep that in mind. I will definitely use them again."

"Fantastic service. Prompt and professional. Jason counseled with us on best options and is very fairly priced. He replace all of our balusters and the wall hand rail. I ll hire him again for future work and will recommend him to friends and family."

Woodworking questions, answered by experts

If you don’t have a power saw with a blade where you can adjust the angle, you could use a miter box and hand saw to make the cuts. The miter box contains wide slots to support the piece of baseboard and other narrow slots to accommodate the blade of the hand saw. However, it’s tough to make non-standard cuts beyond 30 or 45 degrees when using a miter box.

Whether or not it’s easier to cut wood when it’s wet versus dry depends largely on the type of tool you use and the wood you’re cutting. For example, a chain saw should still be able to cut through wet wood with relative ease, but it may be more difficult to maneuver due to the wood fibers sticking to the chains of the saw.

However, you might want to avoid cutting wood entirely when it’s wet if you’re pruning your tree. Sawing a wet tree that you don’t plan on removing can also encourage bacterial and fungal growth and decay.

A contract should outline the scope of work, timelines, costs, payment schedule, and materials used for clarity and protection.

Professionals ensure safe, thorough repairs using quality materials, extending the life of your structure.

Labor plays a significant role in the installation of butcher block countertops. Depending on who you hire, your location, the customization level of the project, and whether the wood is already finished, you may pay a professional between $10 and $150 per square foot to install a butcher block countertop. On average, expect the per-hour price to run between $60 and $100.
