"We replaced the original roof on our house. I expressed my concerns about re-installation of the lightening rods to my roofer. We have had at least three direct hits since they were originally installed in 2013. My roofer called William who was very helpful. William offered to come out an make sure everything was 100% after re-installation. He came the day after I called and I'm glad he did. While the reinstall was the best he had seen (his words) there were issues after 5 year and 3 strikes that needed addressed. He fixed those and now I have a new roof and I am certain the lightening rods will work as intended. Highly recommend this company."

"Great !! I talked to the owner, Leandro on the phone and decided to have LCG do the work. A few days later, Leandro came out to install the surge protector. He was ontime, polite, nice to talk to, did the work professionally and cleaned up. The surge protector was $ 180. and the labor was $ 75. Are you kidding me, $ 75. an hour labor for a professional, licensed electrician. AAA +++ rating."

Yes, in some locations, it is required by the National Electric Code (NEC) to have a transfer switch installed for electrical emergencies. In addition to following electrical code, generator transfer switches ensure your home is fully protected during a power outage. By switching the power from the main breaker to the generator breaker, you can seamlessly operate your HVAC, lights, appliances, devices, and more during an emergency. 

While diesel is relatively stable, it won’t last nearly as long as propane and you may have to replace it if it sits unused for too long. Diesel can sometimes struggle to work efficiently or start engines during especially cold weather, so it’s not the best choice for every climate. Compared to fuels like propane and natural gas, diesel generators tend to be noisier and create more exhaust, which isn’t always ideal for home use.

You can determine what size generator you need by listing the various appliances it will power during an outage. Write down the start-up watt usage, and then add them all together. 

A 7,500-watt generator will run your refrigerator, freezer, well pump, and lighting circuits without a problem. However, you’ll need an extra 3,000 to 4,500 watts to run your water heater and another 5,000 to 25,000 watts to run your electric furnace. In these instances, a whole-home generator is your best bet for running your critical equipment.

Whole-house generators need to be installed on level ground several feet away from walls and other objects. Because they tap into the electrical system directly, they usually need to be close to your home electrical panel for a transfer switch installation. It also helps with installation if they are near to a gas line or propane tank installation.

The amount of time a standby generator can run continuously is around 3,000 hours on average. However, standby generators can generally run indefinitely as long as they have a continuous fuel supply. Generators hooked up to a home’s natural gas supply are the best option for extended usage, as these won’t rely on a finite fuel supply based on how much you have in storage. Generators running on liquid propane or diesel won’t last as long, as these require fuel storage and regular refueling to stay running.
