D1 welding is a veteran owned company providing reliable, on-site welding and metal repair services for residential, commercial, and equipment needs. I specialize in fast response work—whether it’s a broken gate, cracked trailer frame, heavy equipment repair, or structural steel fixes. My goal is simple: show up prepared, get it done right the first time, and keep your project moving.\n\nI work with steel, stainless, and aluminum, and I’m equipped to handle shop-quality fabrication and real-world field repairs. From small jobs like handrails and fence repairs to larger structural or equipment work, I take pride in clean welds, solid workmanship, and practical solutions that last.\n\nWhat sets me apart is dependability and versatility. I understand that downtime costs money, so I focus on quick turnaround, clear communication, and showing up when I say I will. I’m a skilled welder with hands-on experience in fabrication, repair, and metal joining across a variety of materials like steel, stainless, and aluminum. I’ve worked with multiple welding processes, including MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), and stick (SMAW), choosing the right method depending on the job’s strength, precision, and finish requirements.\n\nI take pride in reading blueprints accurately and translating them into clean, strong welds that meet both structural and aesthetic standards. Whether it’s building from scratch, repairing worn components, or doing detailed custom work, I focus on durability, safety, and precision.\n\nSafety is always a top priority for me—I’m trained in proper equipment handling, ventilation awareness, and protective procedures to ensure every job is done responsibly.\n\nI’m also someone who keeps learning—staying updated with new techniques, materials, and tools to improve efficiency and weld quality.

"Daiquan was an absolute pleasure to work with. I had a pretty complex welding project that I wasn’t sure anyone could handle — but he knocked it out of the park. He made the entire process quick, smooth, and stress-free. If you’re looking for a skilled welder who knows what he’s doing and delivers quality work, Daiquan is your guy."

"The entire team at National HomeCraft earned 5 star rating starting with Kathy who responded right away on scheduling someone to come to our home for the free consultation. Followed then by Jeff Beback the representative who explained each step of the process to renovate our 30 year old shower. Demolition and then reconstruction with a beautiful acrylic shower was seamless with the work crew Scott and Brandon. They were punctual, hard working and very skilled at removing the old shower and installing the new. And we saved thousands going with National HomeCraft versus our first quote!! Overall an excellent experience start to finish!!"

Welding questions, answered by experts

Cutting round ductwork requires precision and the right tools. A duct cutter, specifically designed for circular ducts, is ideal. First, mark the cutting line on the duct using a measuring tape and pencil. Then, position the duct cutter's blade on the marked line. Apply steady pressure, rotating the cutter around the duct. The sharp blade creates a clean, precise cut. Alternatively, a reciprocating saw with a metal-cutting blade can be used for larger round ducts. Ensure the duct is securely held in place while making the cut to prevent slips and maintain accuracy.

Your typical household tools will not cut a metal pipe. To cut a metal pipe, you’d need more specialized tools like a pipe cutter or circular saw. Do not attempt to use these tools without taking proper safety precautions and wearing safety gear. It’s usually safer to let a pro cut a metal pipe, especially if you’re not confident in your skills with a heavy-duty saw.

While a high-speed circular saw will cut through metal, and even cut through multiple sheets at once, the fast-spinning saw blades create a lot of heat. This heat can damage paint and other protective coatings, leading to serious problems like rust over time. The cost to paint a metal roof again to avoid this damage is typically an additional $0.50 to $1 per square foot.

Sawing your hot tub into more manageable chunks so it can be lifted easily into a truck takes several hours. Generally, 2.5 hours for smaller hot tubs and around 4 hours for larger ones with the help of one to two people. If money isn't a concern and you want to skip the physical labor, you can hire a pro to get the job done.

It will likely take an experienced pro less than an hour to install a ground rod, which is another reason why letting them handle the job is such a good idea. Safety concerns aside, it would likely take you much longer to install a ground rod if you decided to take this one as a DIY job.
