Two of the other companies were cheaper but proposed to use synthetic foam materials, which don't have a long enough track record for my comfort. Once the job started, the crews worked with great diligence, and despite the numerous difficulties they encountered, I never heard a single complaint. Total work time was 14 days over a three-week period that include Independence Day. Total cost was about $40k"

We hired them to build our home thinking they were a well vetted reputable franchise of Arthur Rutenberg Homes. Although they were one of AR's franchises, AR would not step in and provide any help when everything started going south. I don't have enough time here to outline all the problems we encountered. To make a long story short, however, we ended up firing them after two and a half years without the house being completed. They would not pay subcontractors who ended up placing liens on our house. For this reason, no subs would work for them so they scraped the bottom of the barrel for subs. This resulted in such shoddy workmanship, our new builder couldn't even correct it. Every day we discover something that is a result of this terrible workmanship. We were not the only ones. We found eight other families to which this had happened. Don't be swayed by John Pruitt's seemingly helpful and concerned demeanor. A former employee of his said, "he can sell ice to Eskimos.""
