"The plumber Cliff was very nice and professional. Cliff did fix the valves to be able to turn on my water for the whole house. The great part is he didn't charge me for the service fee. I really try to get Old Republic to use Benjamin Franklin because I wanted to get the job done right the first time. He gave me a quote of $926 dollars to fix both bathroom to replace the shower valves and install shut off valves in each bathroom. My house is a 1979, so the plumbing parts needs to be updated and fixed. The only problem with this company is that is goes by Fix Rate Pricing and Old Republic does not like Fix Rate Pricing, so Old Republic would not reimburse me if I used Benjamin Franklin. Old Republic wants all the prices broken down from parts, labor, and etc. I have to use ACME plumbling because of Old Republic. Old Republic is only going to cover the one bathroom for the shower valve that came apart and blow out the water where the handle is on the tub. Acme doesn't come out until the 4 Nov 13 to fix my shower valve. If I want the second bathroom fix I will have to come out of pocket a total of $250 to $300, which doesn't include a shut off valve.

"
Eric was fantastic from the very start. We had a long interview one afternoon and he impressed me with his enthusiasm and ideas on how to and quot;updateand quot; my old kitchen. It was built in 1975 and had two narrow passageways at each end of the boxed in kitchen. His bid was also most impressive, being about half the cost of other contractors, and this was something I could afford.
A few days after signing the contract, he came in with a crew and isolated the work area with plastic sheeting. I had a small area in the living room where we put the refrigerator and microwave. I was amazed at how fast they gutted the kitchen.
Reconstruction began immediately. The new ceiling was installed and the duct work completed in short order. Eric helped me pick out the colors and granite. I have no sense of decor so he would bring samples over for me to inspect.. His guidance and advice were invaluable. I think he could be a professional interior decorator as well. The sub-contractors he had helping him were all top quality. Eric seemed to know how to do every job as well as the electricians, plumbers, carpenters, etc., and he did a great job of making sure the work was done up to his standards. It is indeed satisfying to see a man take such pride in his work. He has restored my faith in the great american work ethic. I am a happy customer, and would recommend Eric without reservations."

"I would shop around. I think I could have a shorter wait time between when they figured out what kind of repairs you need and when they actually approve the repairs and get somebody out there to do the installment. It's just a long lots of time in getting the job done."

Foundation Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

The cost to install a new sump pump, including materials and professional labor, typically ranges from $1,000 to $3,000. The average cost is often cited between $1,200 and $2,500. Several factors influence the final price, including the type of pump, the complexity of the drainage system, and the installation location. For instance, installing a sump pump in a basement may cost around $1,200, while a more complex installation in a crawl space can cost an average of $3,900. It is important to hire a licensed professional for the installation to ensure quality work, which can impact the pump's lifespan and warranty. Note that these costs are for a new installation; replacing an existing unit is less expensive, typically costing $308 to $748.

The cost of basement waterproofing is $4,950 for the average homeowner. However, you could end up paying between $600 and $14,000, depending on factors like basement size, waterproofing method, and the region you live in.

If you live in an area with heavy rainfall, you might be paying more for waterproofing than if you lived somewhere drier since waterproofing contractors would be in high demand. Likewise, a 500-foot basement costs between $2,500 and $5,000 to waterproof, but that price rises significantly for a larger basement.

A sewage ejector pump is necessary if you have any plumbing fixtures, such as a bathroom, laundry room, or sink, located below the level of your home's main sewer line. Standard plumbing relies on gravity to move wastewater and solid waste to the municipal sewer or septic tank. However, for fixtures located below grade (e.g., in a basement), gravity is not sufficient.

The purpose of a sewage ejector pump is to actively pump this wastewater and solid waste upward into the main sewer line. Without an ejector pump in this situation, wastewater would have no way to exit and would eventually back up, causing a sewage overflow or flooding in your basement. If all of your home's plumbing is on the main floor or higher, gravity can handle the drainage, and an ejector pump is not needed.

The difference between an ejector pump and a sump pump lies in their purpose and design—an ejector pump functions to remove liquid gray water and soft solid sewage waste from your home. If you have a laundry room or bathroom in your basement, an ejector pump for your sewage tank prevents sewage from backing up in your washing machine or bathroom’s drains.

A sump pump is designed to remove excess groundwater that may enter your home, either due to flooding or periods of heavy rain.

Yes, many people choose to bury their sump pump discharge pipes. When you leave the pipe visible in your yard, you might trip over it or accidentally damage it with your lawn mower. Plus, from an aesthetic perspective, hiding the discharge line underground looks nicer than leaving it out in the open. Before burying a sump pump pipe, review your local building codes to make sure your installation is compliant.
