"Outstanding service in blowing out leaves, weeding, then mulching. I would recommend them in fact my neighbor across the street has hired them on my recommendation. Would hire them again, in fact have asked them to come back for more work."

"Terrific! Prestige Brothers Yard Maintenance Service is the very best we’ve had for our community of 9 lots. We have 7 residences and 2 vacant lots as well as very large common areas around a pond and two large rainwater catchments. Prestige has consistently kept these areas looking as nice as possible through weekly mowing and edging, routine trimming of hedges and plants, weed control, fertilization, pest control, and irrigation system checks and maintenance. We highly recommend!"

"I reached out to Golden Garden to help me with everything! I needed my lawn, mowed, weeds addressed, bushes trimmed? I found the owner to be very helpful and responsive. I find the price to be very reasonable compared to other experiences with professionals in the area, where I paid a lot more and was very dissatisfied with the service. I will continue to use Golden Garden and to recommend them!"

Weed Services questions, answered by experts

No, definitely not. Pulling weeds by hand is the single most effective way to remove them because you're eliminating the entire plant—roots and all—so it won’t have a chance to grow or spread. Setting time aside a few times per week to pull weeds can keep them at bay. If the number of weeds gets overwhelming, then you can resort to other methods.

You should add 1 to 4 inches of mulch, depending on your garden type and needs. Keep in mind that no amount of mulch can completely prevent weeds, but a heavier coverage (closer to 4 inches) can suppress weeds enough that you are only seeing them sprout every few weeks. Finer mulch prevents weeds more effectively than large mulch, so if you’re using mulched leaves or shredded bark, 1 to 2 inches will likely suffice, while 3 to 4 inches is best for larger mulch, like bark chips or straw.

The main problem with crabgrass is that it produces thousands of seeds that can remain dormant until the following season. To get rid of it, you have to remove existing plants before they have a chance to spread seeds and stop old seeds from germinating.

Pulling weeds once per month is typically often enough to keep most weeds at bay. But in general, it's best to pull weeds as soon as you spot them to prevent deep root growth and slow their spread. To make it easier, plan your weed pulling after rain or after the sprinklers run so the soil will be nice and wet and the weeds will be easier to pull. If you notice moss accompanying weeds, make a plan to remove the moss immediately to prevent damage.

DIY solutions often lack precise formulation and distribution, potentially leading to lawn damage. Professional treatments optimize results with targeted applications.
