"They were very professional and their cost was very reasonable.  I would definitely use them again.  I used them after I heard some feedback from other people word of mouth.  They were definitely worth calling.  They were a great company and they provided great service."

"I have a block house built in 1996. I recently starting researching ways to “harden” my home against Florida storms. I initially thought a window film application would be the best solution. As I investigated glass technology, I realized the newer glass designs are far superior. I contacted Ryan at Reece Builders. We discussed details. I have a large number of windows, so we did the project in a couple of stages. In every case, every aspect of the project was flawless. The measurement was absolutely spot on. The installers were excellent and gifted craftsmen. Every new window fit perfectly. Everything was done correctly the first time. There were no “re works” for any reason. I mentioned Ryan by name here, but every single member of the Reece team is an outstanding professional and a pleasure to work with. When I look the construction of the Reece window compared to the original builder-supplied window, there is simply no comparison. The Reece window looks and feels much more robust, solid, and very well made. I have two east facing windows left to replace, literally next week. In the morning I put my hand on the old builder windows, and it feels like a hot frying pan. I go to the double insulated gas-filled Reece windows and they are cool to the touch. Actually, the vinyl frame is mildly warm, but I would expect that especially this summer of relentless heat and clear skies. That is the only heat transfer compared to the entire surface area of the old window. This is a great product and an excellent company to work with. I would recommend them and would love to work another project with them. I wish I had more windows to replace!! Thanks Reece ! Thanks Angie !!"

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

Watch for dark spots or black edges on your mirrors, as this indicates moisture damage. For exterior glass and mirror service, fogging between double-pane windows means the insulating seal has failed entirely. You should also inspect aluminum frames for white oxidation or separation from the wall. In Edgewater, high humidity causes mold at frame edges, signaling that the original moisture barrier is broken and requires immediate replacement.

Helpful?

Keep marine-grade sealant on hand to touch up interior caulk, as standard products degrade quickly in our coastal climate. For ongoing glass and mirror service maintenance, use non-abrasive cleaners to safely remove hard water mineral deposits. You must also maintain functional hurricane shutter hardware for any non-impact windows. Finally, place moisture-absorbing materials in Edgewater bathrooms to protect mirror backings from the area's consistently high humidity.

Helpful?

Avoid contractors who fail to include wind-borne debris protection or impact ratings in their exterior glass and mirror service quotes. Any professional working in FL must provide verifiable license numbers and insist on pulling the proper building permits. You must also reject quotes that promise unusually fast completion times during the summer rainy season without accounting for the humidity conditions required for adhesives and sealants to cure properly.

Helpful?

The local climate heavily impacts glass and mirror service. In FL, high UV exposure and extreme temperature swings require flexible sealants and UV-resistant materials to prevent cracking. Proximity to the Indian River Lagoon means salt air accelerates metal backing corrosion, making high-quality edge sealing essential. A professional will also ensure your exterior installations meet strict wind-borne debris protection codes to withstand severe weather and keep your home secure.

Helpful?

You should combine glass and mirror service with other home upgrades to streamline your improvements. In Edgewater, preparing for hurricane season means upgrading windows, doors, and impact-resistant glass at the same time. Combining these projects with weatherproofing upgrades prevents redundant labor. Schedule this work during the fall or early winter to avoid peak demand and reduce the number of required permit applications for your property.
