"CHW was very responsive to my claim (swimming pool circulation pump failed). However, CHW was unable to find a local service provider. After 10 days, my pool was experiencing an algae bloom and I needed to do something quickly. I found a service provider who fixed the pump (bad capacitor) for $50...just a few dollars more than the $45 that would have been out of pocket for a CHW agent to fix the pump."

"We had Done Right come out to replace our pool liner and cut some tree limbs down in our front and back yard and we are extremely pleased with their professionalism. They have a lot of knowledge with pool repair and tree care! Their prices where much better than any other company. They have the equipment to get any job done. I was so please with their work that my wife and I are having them come back out this spring to get our front and back yards cleaned up and add mulch to new flowers to our garden beds. You can not find a company that is as professional as done right, especially for their price! We highly recommend them to anyone needing any pool, landscaping or tree service work. Trust me you will not be disappointed with their work or their work ethic."

Pool Construction and Installation questions, answered by experts

A few different types of land surveys can help determine certain features and boundaries of your property. These include:

  • Boundary surveys describe the actual borders of a property. These are generally required when trying to get construction permits issued.

  • Location surveys provide much of the same information as a boundary survey but also include in-depth information about any improvements made to your property.

  • Mortgage location surveys are usually required by lenders and title companies before financing or offering an insurance policy.

  • Site-planning surveys are done before applying for building permits and can be issued before any major home improvements.

  • Topographic surveys provide a formal map of land elevations. It can also describe the location and size of natural features and any land improvements.

Framing is often the most expensive phase of building a house because it’s time-consuming and requires a lot of materials. It costs between $20,000 and $50,000 on average, depending on materials and labor costs. Before construction begins, it’s possible that purchasing land is the priciest step in the process. Some plots of land sell for $3,000, while others cost upwards of $150,000.

To hire a land surveyor, you need to start by searching online for reputable professionals in your area. Here are a few steps to take when making a shortlist:

  • Browse land surveyor service website

  • Check credentials

  • Read customer reviews

  • Find their contact information

  • Call or email to inquire about more information

  • Ask how far they travel, if you’re some distance away

  • Find out how they charge for their services

  • Ask about schedule and turnaround times

  • Repeat these steps for one to two other services and compare pricing

Consultation with the local government helps identify necessary permits, avoid project delays or legal issues, and protect project integrity.

Soil testers and licensed excavators are often the professionals you hire if you need a perc test. In some cases, structural engineers will also be able to conduct the test for you. In many municipalities, you’ll need your professional on-site to dig and fill the holes with water, as well as a representative from your local building department or health department. That representative is the individual who will determine whether your test passes or fails.
