I've been in the paint industry in my area for over thirty-eight years, either working in a paint store behind the counter as a manager or as a sales rep for a major manufacturer. I was also a manufacturer's rep for epoxy coatings.

"We needed our accent walls painted ASAP before our new tile installation job started Saturday morning. I contacted Regalbuto Contractors LLC through Angie's List late Thursday night, they returned my call first thing Friday morning and came by to quote the job within a couple hours, and came back that afternoon to paint our walls. We are very happy with our walls, they turned out beautiful! We really appreciate that they were able to accommodate our need on such short notice!"

"The job went smoothly in every respect and we were very happy with the results.  Peter and Leza did the work themselves, showed up on time, did a high quality job as promised, cleaned up after each operation, and were a pleasure to work with.  They even painted the ceiling, which was not part of the contract, at no extra cost.   A special challenge of this job was that I had to arrange for the work by email and phone, and they made that easy!   We will definitely use Galli for any future painting work, and will recommend them to others.

"Excellent. I love my bathroom. Very polite, helpful, professional and punctual. I was not sure what i wanted and he took the time to give me his professional opinion and lots of ideas and thoughts. Never did anything wo me knowing or my approval. Always kept me in the loop. Cleaned up after themselves and worked hard to finish in a timely matter. Very fair prices, high quality work. Definitely recommend!!!"

"Sally Bradley is a gifted interior designer with innovative ideas to fit your budget. She has completely remodeled a Florida condo for us, chose furniture and lighting fixtures for our apartment in downtown Chicago, and several rooms in our main home. We were very pleased with her ideas, follow-through, availability throughout the process, and results. Highly recommended."

"On 3 occasions, the main painter asked if they needed to cover the floors. I said no as new tile would be laid over the top. Upon completion of the painting, my first impression was they had applied more paint to the floor rather than the ceiling and walls. When I questioned the reason, the main painter stated he asked me 3 times of this concern. Unfortunately, I did not realize it would be to this extreme. It was a portion of my fault for not asking. However, I feel he could have divulged more information or explained that an excess of paint would be on the floor. He basically responded that it is the flooring installer's problem now. Another concern was the bath. It felt gritty. Sliding glass doors, windows and mirrors had over spray remaining on them. When I contacted the business, they did not do any follow up."

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

It’s possible to hang your own wallpaper, but the process is tedious and potentially frustrating, and it can be challenging to get seams to line up and look clean and professional. Plus, depending on the type of wallpaper you’re installing, using too much or too little adhesive could cause damage to your drywall or plaster, peeling, and bubbling in the final product. It’s usually a better idea to hire a professional wallpaper installer to do the work for you, as the relatively low cost is justifiable, if only to avoid damage to your walls.

No. If you overlap seams, the wallpaper will not come out flat. In addition to possibly throwing off your pattern match between rolls, overlapping seems necessary. If wallpaper is properly acclimated, and temperature and moisture conditions are optimal during installation, there is no reason to fear shrinkage as it dries.

Your peel-and-stick wallpaper can fall off for multiple reasons, including high humidity levels, extreme temperature changes, poor installation, and even the wall surface. Textured walls can prevent the adhesive from fully sticking to the wall, making it more likely for the wallpaper to peel off. Low-quality wallpapers with weaker adhesives are also more likely to fall off prematurely.

Putting up new wallpaper tends to take one to two days, depending on the size of the area, whether old paper needs to be removed, and if there is any damage to walls that needs to be smoothed over or fixed.

You shouldn’t need extra adhesive for peel-and-stick backsplash tile. The adhesive on the back of the tile sheets should do the trick. However, if you experience issues with the tile peeling or falling off, make sure the wall you’re working on isn’t textured, as that can prevent the materials from properly adhering.
