"Massarone Paints is very professional as well as being easy to work with. I hired them to paint three rooms in my home and was so pleased that I asked that they do my family room, den and kitchen. They went beyond what I expected. I have an older home, they spackled the walls and even sanded down the drips of paint from other painting jobs so that my walls look just beautiful!! They were very neat and cleaned up everything before leaving. I would definitely hire them again, and in fact asked for an outside paint job estimate for my home in the spring. I have recommended to my family and also neighbors."

"Mike called to confirm his time of arrival and was on time even though it was storming. He went right to work upon his arrival and completed the painting we had discussed in a short time. Not only was he prompt, he was very meticulous in his work. He met all three P's, prompt, professional and personable. I will call him again."

Small jobs welcome

Hi! I'm a professional wallcovering installer. I've been in the business for 5+ years, and for most of those I worked under one of the top installers in the country. I learned all I know from him and from other installers I met while being part of a wallpaper installers guild. I have decided to branch out on my own to use all the skills I have learned. I have a keen eye for detail in my work and I take pride in what I do!

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

In most cases, it is not recommended to wallpaper over existing wallpaper, as the success depends on the type of paper already on the wall. While you might be able to cover non-coated wallpaper, you should never apply new wallpaper over a vinyl-coated one, which is more common. Doing so can lead to poor adhesion, resulting in bubbles, imperfections, and peeling. It can also trap moisture, potentially causing hazardous mold growth between the layers.

Even if the existing wallpaper is suitable, experts recommend applying only one new layer. Adding multiple layers (more than two total) can cause significant adhesion problems, leading to warping and bubbling. For the best results, the recommended approach is to remove the old wallpaper and all paste residue before hanging the new paper. If you are unsure about your wallpaper type, consider consulting a professional.

The two most common reasons wallpaper does not stick are a lack of preparation and improper adhesive. Be sure to use the wallpaper paste designed for the type of paper you choose. Before beginning your project, make sure the walls are clean and free of dust, grease, and oils.

You shouldn’t need extra adhesive for peel-and-stick backsplash tile. The adhesive on the back of the tile sheets should do the trick. However, if you experience issues with the tile peeling or falling off, make sure the wall you’re working on isn’t textured, as that can prevent the materials from properly adhering.

Yes, many installation and painting services include wall preparation, such as patching holes, smoothing surfaces, sanding, and priming. It is recommended to confirm the specific preparations included with your provider.

Deciding between a lighter or darker accent wall depends on the effect you’re going for. Choosing an accent wall in a lighter color will make a room feel brighter and more spacious and complement rooms with less natural light. A darker accent wall will add drama and depth to a room and help make larger rooms feel more cozy and intimate.
