".Gray Bros arrived on time (Very rare in this part of Florida) and had all the equipment, on hand, necessary to complete the work.  Their work was timely, state-of-the-practice and they explained every step they took to our satisfaction.  They also examined our whole house surge protector which showed it had been compromised and volunteered to replace the SP at a reasonable price.  On calling the original installer, we discovered it may still be under warranty. We decided to pursue that path.  Should note: Gray suggested we make the call to the original source at the sacrifice of their business.  THAT is professional service!!  They cleaned up after the work and passed on suggestions for other contractors in the home improvement business with whom they subcontract with a "Good as us" recommendation.  These type experiences, in the Ocala area, are rare.... from a "How they run their business" point of view.  Recommend Gray Bros HIGHLY.

"About 6 months ago I noticed a watermark on my ceiling.  My current shingle roof was 20 yrs old and I really didn't want to start putting money into repairs and so began the search for the perfect roof.  I talked to several people in my neighborhood whom had their roofs replaced recently to get an idea on pricing and workmanship.  My insurance had recently gone up $800 a year after an insurance company reinspection noted my roof clips only had 2 nails instead of 3 as now required for hurricane roof mitigation (INSURANCE COMPANY SCAM)!  I was in no rush to replace my roof and was not happy with the roofs I had looked at nor the prices. I knew I was going to have to have my roof re-strapped to save money in the long run.  After months of research I pretty much had figured out what I wanted but it had to fit into my budget. 
I made a plan to go to the St. Pete Home Show. Where better to kill all the birds with one stone.  I talked to all the roofing companies there and got quite an experience. That's when I met SCOTT TURLEY  from SOLARSHIELD METAL ROOFING.  After talking to Scott for about 45 minutes in knew that was the roof I wanted and the company I wanted to do it. Next question was, "can I afford it"? I made an appointment with Scott to find out.
Scott contacted me within a few days and we were set to meet. He came to my house at the scheduled day and time. He did a thorough presentation for myself, my wife, and a friend who was also interested.  He explained the history of how the current Solarshield system had evolved into todays' application and the owners' involvement in each job.  I wanted this roof bad but we had not yet discussed the price.  Scott then did a complete inspection of my roof to verify if I even needed one yet.  He actually thought I could get by a little longer.  I took that as a very noble gesture on his part but I was convinced I wanted a Solarshield roof. I explained to him my electrical bills had GONE THRU THE ROOF and it was time to fix them.  I was quoted a price of around 24k and the roof would receive full Hurricane Mitigation to include re-nailing of the entire roof, water barrier, and re-strapping along with solar insulation, the metal roofing material and a complete lifetime warranty with no pro-rating.  I couldn't believe it ! Where do I sign!  
Contract in hand, Scott said it would be the first couple of weeks February before they could get started. This was November so I thought it was a good thing they were so busy.  I got a call from the office in early January stating they would be starting the 21st of January. I was informed they would be bringing in a dumpster, a port-a-pot, and gave me the names of everyone that would be on-site. How professional was that!!  Frank, the owner showed a couple weeks earlier to verify dimensions and go over any questions I had.  He even fixed the leak in my roof so I wouldn't have anymore staining until they got started. WOW!!
Ron, the job Foreman, and his crew showed up on the specified date and time.  All equipment and supplies were delivered as specified.  Ron went over some last minute details with me on how everything was going to go and the guys got to work.  The crew was professional and kept everything spotless during the 5 days they were here, even wading through my pond to get the trash out!!. They all showed up at daylight every day and worked til dark every night. They worked well together and were a happy bunch which was nice to see. These guys really seem devoted to their jobs and you can tell they are loyal to their employer.  Ron is a true professional and a great leader.  I commend the entire Solarshield Team for their tremendous effort, workmanship, and professionalism.  SALUTE!!!
