"Kevin made us an entertainment center that is magnificent. You can not buy this wonderful piece of furniture anywhere. It is quite large and had to come in in three pieces. The finished piece is so beautiful Would recommend him to anyone for anything. In fact he did a custom job for my neighbor to match existing furniture and it is a great piece looking like the other furniture cabinet they have."

"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."

"Workmanship excellent.  Work area was kept clean at the end of each day.  I LIKED THAT!  The only down side was that it took a little longer than expected due to problems found withing our walls, and a few scheduling misunderstanding.  Over all I am very please with how everything turned out. A GOOD VALUE AND NICE PEOPLE TO DEAL WITH."

"Lightening strike led to re-wiring whole house via many holes cut in sheetrock walls by electricians. Hideous holes needed repairing, custom cutting replacements, plastering and painting. Also re-hung doors and fixed door locks -- all working well now. Jason Knipe's conscientious professionalism made house look brand new. Perfectly matched paints. So also hired him to install snowplow and then riding mower deck. A fast learner and master wood working expert , we hired him to construct a beautiful wooden loveseat for our garden. Exacting wife thrilled with all of Jason Knipe's "OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES." We will definitely hire him for future projects."

"We worked with Sergio and the team for a new addition, screened in porch, and small patio to our home in Rehoboth. They were fantastic to work with, great ideas, accurate and top-quality work. They were responsive when we had to make the inevitable adjustments along the way, and pricing was fair. They listened and provided a great product. We're so very happy with them -- they are our choice for future work, too!"

Cabinet Making questions, answered by experts

Not exactly. While this is a fairly straightforward task to handle without professional assistance, it’s not one that you can do completely on your own. You’ll need a strong person to hold the bathroom vanity level and in place while you screw it into the wall. It’s heavy, so you want to ensure you have help installing it.

There are three primary ways to attach upper kitchen cabinets to a wall, and installers may use more than one method at a time. The most common method is to drive screws through the back of the cabinets and into studs in the wall behind. Sometimes cabinets are glued to the wall with strong adhesive. Often a combination of screws and adhesive is desirable. The last way is by hanging the cabinets on hardware brackets that attach to the wall before cabinet installation.

It depends on whether you buy pre-made stacked cabinets or construct them from scratch. If you build added cabinets from scratch, you can expect it to take several hours or days to build each one and then another two to three days for installation. Then, after painting your new cabinets, you should allow a few weeks for the paint to dry thoroughly before installing them over your existing cabinets.

If you’re brave enough to tackle building your own cabinet bases, you’re brave enough to install them yourself. You’ll need a stud finder to get you started, but the installation will be a breeze if you’ve already done all the hard work to build the cabinet bases yourself. If you’re hanging upper cabinets, you’ll need a helper, though, to balance the weight of the cabinets and make the process easier.

In a kitchen installation, starting with the foundation and structural elements before moving on to the finishing touches is essential. Framing, plumbing, and utilities should go first, followed by cabinetry and countertops, then plumbing fixtures and new appliances. Flooring, paint, tile backsplashes, and similar finishing touches should get installed last.
