"The electrician, Jesse, who put our celing fan and fixed a wiring problem on one of our light switches was great! Not only was he friendly, proffessional and able to get the job in a timely manner, he was also laid back and honest. Which i can appreciate! Phil Williams the owner of Williams electric was plrasant to talk to over the phone. He worked with me on the price and schedule (was able to do the job the same day)! I am very pleased with this company and hope to use them over and over again."

"Electrical Connection installed a transfer switch for our generator last year when other companies would not even return our calls. The work was professional, friendly and efficient. "Ken and his helper were amazing. Ken came out to recommend and quote light fixtures in our unfinished basement, connect a couple of Ring floodlights, and replace the doorbell transformer and install a new Ring doorbell at my residence. Ken's work is clean, fast, and reasonably priced! I would absolutely hire him again!"

"As first time suburban homeowners whose previous home was a small apartment in New York City, we knew immediately that we would need help decorating. I reached out to Design by Jonathans online and heard back from them instantly. Our first phone discussion left me knowledgeable about the process and how we would work together. I was feeling overwhelmed with having several empty rooms - no furniture, no rugs, nothing but Jonathan reassured me that he would lead us through the process step by step. And that's what they did! Brilliant, humorous, talented, patient, trustworthy, flexible are all adjectives I'd use to describe Jonathan during the time spent with him. He went above and beyond - answering texts about bar stools, patiently scrolling long internet pages to find the perfect pillows/rugs/wall hangings and answering every email promptly. He was always on time for our appointments and was always prepared. I think he was great at finding pieces that both appealed to what my husband and I both liked. I'm sure this isn't an easy task. He was filled with lots of great advice and we trusted him when he said 'If you don't love it now, you won't like it later. Let's keep looking.' We would have been lost without him. We have some beautiful spaces in our new home thanks to his hard work and keen eye. I can't recommend him enough. He also is talented in the lighting / audio space as well as it was his suggestion we add several more ceiling lights to the dark living room. Wow, what a difference. He respected our budget as well and never pushed us. I'm thankful for the experience and have received so many compliments on our new home."

Lighting questions, answered by experts

No, you should not leave LED Christmas lights up all year. While the LED lights themselves are very durable, their wiring and casings can be as vulnerable as any Christmas lights. They’re subject to drying out, experiencing cold or sun damage that causes them to crack, and even damage caused by gnawing pests. (The same is true of incandescents.) If you want your lights to last the years that they’re rated for, bring them inside after Christmas is over.

Local building codes typically require conduit around exterior wiring. Conduit protects the wire from moisture, extreme temperatures, sun exposure, and harsh weather conditions to prolong its lifespan. When a wire is worn out, it can be dangerous as the risk of electric shock or fire increases.

Your maintenance needs revolve around the type of foundation you choose, as well as how you furnish or decorate it. Patios require little else other than the occasional hose-down, but decks and other wooden structures will require annual power washing and sealing. You may also need to restain the wood every two to three years.

Adding a solid roof rather than building a pergola or leaving the space open will make maintenance much easier. Without a roof, you will need to spend more time sweeping, washing, and covering your furniture to protect it from UV bleaching.

Outdoor lighting repairs typically take between 1-3 hours. The exact duration can vary depending on factors such as the complexity of the problem, the extent of the damage, and the ease of access to the lighting fixtures and wiring.

It’s fair to be concerned about handling pool lights or wiring in a pool filled with water. But fortunately, pool lights and swimming pools are designed to make it easy and safe to replace the lights without needing to drain the water. Instead, you can turn off the electricity to the pool as a safety precaution, unscrew the pool fixture, pull it up and out to the side of the pool, then change the bulb.
