Nichols' Electric

I posted my work order last night and within 5 minutes Kevin Nichols called and set up an appointment for an estimate for this morning. It was a small job, replacing two exterior lights and converting several old two prong outlets to three prong outlets. At 10:00 this morning two electricians were at my front door, looked over the jobs, gave me a reasonable estimate, and asked if I wanted the job done right then. I did, and they got right to work. Within 90 minutes they had finished, cleaned up carefully -including vacuuming up any debris around each outlet - and were on their way. They were pleasant, efficient, and I now have working outlets and outside lights. I couldn't recommend Nichols Electrical more highly!

I liked everything they did. However, the warranty provided is unclear on what it covers. They work done was good. No complaints. They are a little expensive.

We found Nichols Electric by searching on the internet. He was able to come out that day to deal with the circuit breaker that kept tripping. He found the problem, disconnected something so the breaker would stop tripping (I have no vocabulary for this) and proposed a solution that he could do another day. He was able to come back a week or so later and fixed that problem. He took the trouble to come up with a fix that was most asthetically acceptable, which I really appreciated. On the same visit, he put one of the kitchen outlets on a separate circuit which should minimize another problem we were having when multiple heat-producing appliances were operating simultaneously.

Kevin came out promptly and looked at the job. He agreed to find a carpenter to do the carpentry work. He synchronized the carpenter's work with his electrical work so that it was all done over a couple of days. There was no interruption in my electrical service and it was all completed without my having to take time off from work. He called me twice to give me status. The job was done well and the outside of the house at the meter looks good. His price included the carpenter's fee.

I initially contacted Kevin through Angies List mail, describing the job and asking for an approximate cost. He was the only one (out of 4 mails) that responded promptly with an estimated price. I had to wait another few weeks for a part to come in. When I called him to set up an appointment he let me know that his week was very busy but could get to my job in the following week. I appreciated his being frank about his schedule. The following week I contacted him and he came right over and installed the ceiling fan within $25 dollars of the original estimate, which was quite fair given that he had to put the fan together and that it was installed on an extra high ceiling. Everything works great. I appreciated Kevins professionalism. We will certainly call him again when needed.

A+ Kevin called right away and checked out the job. I had a burned out fan in the master bath. I bought a fan and called him back to install it. He told me that he could just replace the motor instead of the entire thing. He went to the parts store, picked up a new motor and installed it so I could return the one I bought. It was $225 minus the Angie's List coupon for 10%. total $202.50. Great service, very happy, will definitely use him again.

I had used him before and was very happy with him. So I used him again for a new place. I called him to come out on a day that I thought he was going to do the work but he just showed up and looked at the place and wanted to do it on a day I wasn't here. Because I had a good relationship with him the last time I let him work without me at home. That was a mistake. Later he told me he had cut into the joists to install the lighting (something I would not have authorized and he never called to ask if that was what I wanted) and eventually I discovered that in installing one cable outlet the other one didn't work. The entire time he was pretty dismissivve like I was some crazy person for not trusting him to work on his own. Well lesson learned. I wouldn't use him again.

They were on time, respectful, and efficient. I'd use Kevin and his crew again in a heartbeat.

They did A/V wiring for a house we just purchased. While he was there I had him change a few outlets. I thought the price for the A/V was fair. I feel he way overcharged me for the outlets. He did a good job but I will think twice about using him again based on price he charged for the outlets.

Both times that they were here, they left without telling me they were leaving or to say that they were gonna either send me a bill or something which was weird. It was fine, I had no problem with the quality of the work but it was just strange that they didn't say they were done.

Kevin was extremely responsive - he stopped over the house on the day I called, and started the job within 24 hours of when I called back to say 'go' - he worked very well with the contractor who was building the sunroom. We made some adjustments mid-stream and his team made the changes in stride. He cam recommended from family, and his estimate was higher than expected, though I did not compare to other providers. I was very happy with the job and would work with him again.

Kevin gave us great suggestions as to proper placement of outside lights for safety and security. He showed up when scheduled, did meticulous work and solved our exterior lighting issues. Everything works perfectly. We've used Kevin in the past for work he did in our house so we knew what to expect... prompt, professional, excellent service.

Kevin assesed our needs and then showed up on the day that they promised to do the work. 80% of the work performed on first afternoon and then finished the next day after confirming all the details. Work was done perfectly and everything was cleaned up so you couldn't tell they were there. Definitely will recommend them to all who need an electrician.

I used this company for three jobs. First job was putting in recessed lighting in my condo. They did a great job. They also moved a few cable hook ups to better spots. It was Kevin Nichols and his associate who were polite, quiet, personable and professional. On this visit they also helped me install a light and stayed until it fit perfectly. Next up, I purchased an oven and when the installers pushed it back, it pushed into the plug which was in an awkward spot for the new oven. I called and asked them to come out that day. If it didn't get it fixed it would be very far out from the wall and my cat would certainly insist on diving back there. They came out immediately... moved the plug and pushed the oven flush with the wall. FInally after inheriting my mom's house we needed to replace and insanely old range hood (we are talking like 1941) the associate came out and switched out. Done and done. Fast, correct, professional. I have never had a problem with any of their work.
