"Luis and his crew were very customer friendly. Came to estimate job same day as I requested a quote. They came when they said they would and were very respectful of the surrounding area. Great value for the work they did. Cleaned up the area and chipped all the wood and took it away. I would hire them again for sure. Thanks Luis. Dave"

"Al did a great job. Arrived when he said he would and did a fabulous job. The job ended up costing more than I expected, but, it was a lot of work to do, (11 stumps) especially having to remove a large volume of chips out of the yard. I would definitely recommend H&H Stump grinding to anyone."

"Leonard and helper went above and beyond my idea of what the job entailed. My old fieldstone outside fireplace/barbecue needed TLC and when they were done, it looked like new! Very pleased with their work, They were courteous and cleaned up after themselves."

Small jobs welcome

"Versatile Excavating recently repaired my long gravel driveway and did an excellent job. Dave Roberts explained what he would do and told me how much it would cost. Then he came when he said he would and was very cooperative with other contractors on the site. We agreed on the boundary lines for the driveway, he marked them and then followed them exactly!! Then he billed my for less than his estimate because it "didn't require as much materials" which I never would have known. I highly recommend Versatile Excavating Service which we found on Home Advisor."

"They prepared a new and firmer base to my brick patio. The removal and placement of the same bricks brought a new look and pattern. They responded promptly and finished the work in one day. 2years later the patio looks great!"

Brush Chipping questions, answered by experts

Remove household junk, construction debris, yard waste, and old appliances.

If you want to take the decomposition process into your hands to speed it up, water and sunlight are key. Of course, you can’t control sunlight yourself, but you can rake leaves into piles in sunny spots in your yard. In terms of using water, you can also moisten the decomposing leaves with water, whether by pouring some from a watering can from time to time or using a hose to moisten them.

The best way to clean an overgrown yard is to create a multi-stage game plan, from clearing out the debris to cleaning up the edges around hardscaping and landscape curbing. Get rid of yard debris like worn furniture and broken tools first, then start trimming and raking what’s left. Mow the grass, trim the hedges, and rake leaves away. Once that’s complete, move on to more detailed work, like pulling weeds and replanting gardens.

Overall, artificial turf maintenance isn’t time- or labor-intensive, especially compared to natural lawns. To clean artificial grass, you can start by raking away any organic debris, like leaves and dirt, that have blown in from somewhere else. Then, break out the hose to take care of most messes that are left over.

Trimming a rose bush is similar to cutting back your shrubs or other bushes.

First, you’ll start by removing old, damaged, or diseased branches from the base. Next, thin out the plant's interior by removing thin, weak branches. Finally, you’ll want to cut off buds where the leaves meet the stem.

Trim away using a 45-degree angle, as this will help with water runoff and promote new growth outward.
