"I had been waiting for another company to do the work. They couldn’t give me a date, not even an estimate. More than six weeks after receiving the quote for that company to remove a dead tree and some stumps, I gave up in frustration. I cancelled and found Don. A day after meeting with him, Don sent his people to remove a dead tree that had been on my front lawn since a snowstorm brought it down. I appreciated that so much. Trees that flower in the spring—like dogwood, cherry, magnolia, and pear—should not be pruned during the winter. These spring-flowering plants grow buds on old growth, so you’ll actually remove what would’ve been gorgeous flowering foliage. Systemic herbicides are absorbed by the root and can kill off problematic roots. However, herbicides can sometimes negatively impact nearby plants, so the solution is best used sparingly.

Trimming a tree can take anywhere from just two hours to a full day, depending on the age of the tree, the number of trees, and the species. Young trees are generally easier to trim, as their branches are often thinner in diameter and easier to reach compared to mature trees. They also tend to be healthier.
