"Called Bart to get an estimate and he drove by the house even before we were supposed to meet with him as he was already in the neighborhood. He called and gave us the estimate over the phone which saved us a trip to drive out and meet him. On the day the work was to be done, Drew & Kyle were already there when we got there getting things prepared to mud jack the driveway. This was a residential rental that we were planning on selling. They were able to lift the top of the drive so that driving into the garage was now a smooth transition. The job went smoothly and we were very pleased with the results!"

"Exceeded expectations! Rebecca and her team patched and sealed our asphalt drive at thousands less than replacing. Other contractors bid to cut out large sections at excessive pricing. Rebecca was able to transform our ten year old driveway ensuring cracks, dents spider cracks were patched and sealed with the highest grade materials. Well worth the investment and a great value extending the life of our asphalt for years and preventing water damage caused by erosion. I highly recommend this company if you are looking for a high quality, attention to detail and professional experience."

Driveway Sealcoating questions, answered by experts

Asphalt driveways last anywhere from 15 to 30 years, but if you don’t stay on top of repairs, you may find yourself spending extra to replace your driveway before its typical lifespan. Stay on top of repairing cracks and potholes by routinely inspecting your driveway once or twice a year. It’s a good idea to pressure wash your asphalt driveway at least once a year to keep it clean. Apply a sealer every one to five years, based on your climate.

Professionals provide high-quality sealants and applications, extending pavement life and enhancing appearance.

Though they may look similar, tar and bitumen come from different sources. Bitumen is a petroleum product—extracted during crude oil refining—and is mostly made up of hydrocarbons. Tar comes from burning down organic materials like coal or wood. Bitumen is strictly oil-based, while tar is a mix of compounds from natural sources. Both are used as binders in paving; however, bitumen is the standard for today’s asphalt. Tar use has mostly faded out of road construction.

If you notice minor cosmetic problems with your driveway, you should seal it. Look out for cracks and holes on the surface, faded asphalt or concrete, and stains from oil and other chemicals. Replacing your driveway may be necessary if you’re dealing with significant problems—¼-inch cracks, large potholes, and puddles from drainage issues. The cost to install an asphalt driveway typically ranges between $4,200 and $9,000, significantly more than resealing. Consider talking to a professional to discuss whether resurfacing your driveway—a midway project between resealing and replacing—is a better option for you.

Driveway sealcoating costs around $500 on average, or between $1.25 and $1.50 per square foot for materials and labor. Most homeowners pay between $250 and $800 for this service. Your project price will depend mostly on the size of your driveway, the type of sealant, how much pressure washing or treatment is required before sealing, and the number of coats of sealant applied to your driveway. Most sealants come in 5-gallon or 55-gallon units, with up to 500 square feet of coverage per 4 gallons.
