"After the inspection was performed, Vernon, call me right away. He informed me of the extent of the foundation damage , and what was the root cause of it. The house was recently flipped, and his photos showed the poor quality of workmanship by the company, heat ducting smashed closed, no pads for blocking if the floor beams, a portion of the crawl space was so narrow, it would only be able to be accessed from the top side.He also provided me with a verbal ball park estamate on what it would take to correct these problems."

"Contacted Absolute Appeal to get quote on replacing a 9-year old flagstone patio that was in bad shape and find/fix a leak along one side. Within a couple of days Sonny Lobato (firm owner) visited our home, reviewed what we wanted done and provided a quote for the work the same day. Sonny took a lot of time to in providing information on options for the project and assisting us in selecting the pavers. Once a decision was made the work began in just over one week and was completed (including debris removal and clean-up) in less than a week. The materials had to be moved by wheelbarrow across our front and back yard and Sonny protected the lawn by placing wood planks where the wheelbarrow had to cross the grass. Sonny was on site most of the time work was being done and he did all the skill work. We found Sonny to be very professional and easy to work with. A sinking foundation can be lifted, most often by installing piers to re-level and support the weight of the house. Depending on the cause and extent of the sinking, other methods to lift a foundation include underpinning and mudjacking. Concrete leveling is absolutely worth it if you have sunken concrete slabs and want to restore them to level, especially if the slab is part of your home foundation. Concrete leveling is less than half the price of replacing concrete sidewalks, patios, walkways, and pool decks, and it’s about a quarter of the cost of replacing a foundation. If you also treat the underlying problem, it can be a worthwhile and permanent solution.

Mudjacking is suitable for sidewalks, driveways, patios, and nearly all exterior flat structures. However, it may not suit severely damaged or heavily cracked areas.

Mudjacking should last for five to 10 years, so it’s considered a temporary solution to sinking concrete. However, there are some cases where mudjacking fails before this time period, like if you have loose soil below the concrete or a karst landscape is to blame for the sinking concrete.
