"We had a fairly complex issue where roots of a previously removed tree were causing a stone wall to heave. In addition, roots from a large shade tree in another part of the property were encroaching under a brick patio causing areas of heaving resulting in tripping hazards. We had hired Right Way Property & Wildlife Management in the past and felt confidant of their ability to safely and effectively correct our problems without impacting the health of the healthy, mature tree involved. While removing the brick to access the encroaching roots was difficult because of a surrounding stone wall, Boone and Alex were extremely patient and detailed in their work. They were able to carefully remove the three problematic roots so the brick pavers could be returned to their original position minus any heaves. I couldnâ t be more impressed by the knowledge, expertise and professionalism Right Way Property & Wildlife Management has displayed on both occasions we have used their services."

"Steve and Tent did a wonderful job. The job turned into a bigger project than originally planned and Steve took it all in stride. He resloped the front of the property after installing 9 huge blocks for a retention wall, then reshaped the driveway and parking deck. It's exactly what I wanted! Thanks Steve for having the same sight I did!"

Patios questions, answered by experts

Yes, a sunroom will require a permit. You may just need a general construction permit for a screened-in porch or solarium. For a three-season room with electricity and a four-season room with electric, heating, and cooling, you’ll need additional permits for each of the utilities, as well as a roofing permit.

The cost to screen in a porch depends on whether you are adding screens to an existing structure or building a new one from scratch. Adding screens to an existing porch costs about $5 to $7 per square foot, with a national average cost of around $2,800. For example, screening a 12-by-12-foot (144-square-foot) porch would likely cost between $700 and $1,000. If you are building a new screened-in porch, the cost is substantially higher. A new 12-by-12-foot screened-in porch can cost between $6,400 and $18,300, while a new 14-by-16-foot one averages around $11,000. The final price will vary based on the size of the porch, labor costs, and the materials you choose.

A deck is typically attached to a house and accessed via the back door. Decks are usually constructed from wood or composite materials. A terrace, on the other hand, is a raised platform that can be attached to or detached from the house and is typically made from a hard-paved material, such as paving stones. Terraces can be built on the ground or on the roof of a home.

Building a sunroom is usually less expensive than the cost of building a home addition, but it depends on the type of sunroom. A four-season sunroom will cost more than a home addition because it’s basically a home addition with larger, more expensive windows. All other types of sunrooms will be more affordable than a home addition of an equivalent size because they don’t have insulation, heating, cooling, electrical connections, or plumbing.

A covered deck can be a good investment that increases your home value—especially if you live in a hot region with a lot of sun. A covering over the deck means you can get more use out of it, even on the hottest summer days. With a permanent deck covering, you can even add ceiling fans to help cool down your deck for added comfort.
