"Alan and his crew were great to work with! They took out my old driveway and sidewalk next to our house and replaced them with a nice new one this fall (2023). They listened to my specific requests regarding grading and drainage in order to fix some of the issues with the old driveway. These issues were addressed adequately and the new driveway drains much better. They did the whole project in two days. We love our new driveway! Their price was very competitive and I was happy to be able to support a small, local business. I highly recommend them!"

"I’m so happy with how this turned out! The stamped design in the center looks amazing and really stands out against the smooth broom finish around it. The colors came out exactly how I wanted, and the lines are super clean. You can really see the attention to detail—definitely a 5-star job!"

"The team that did the foundation work did great work. David Felix that did an inspection two weeks after the foundation work was completed was very professional, competent and knowledgeable. David Felix came back to do the yearly inspection and again he did awesome work. He was on time, polite and respectful. We recommend FRS and especially David Felix"

Foundation Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

Installing a sump pump takes a bit of know-how, but it is possible to do it yourself. You’ll need to familiarize yourself with details like where sump pump water goes to avoid creating new flooding risks. If you’re doing the work yourself, it’s recommended to bring in a pro for a quick inspection afterward so you can be sure your home is protected from any water damage concerns.

There are a couple of similar alternatives you may consider for a sewage ejector pump, including a grinder pump or a submersible sump pump. Submersible sump pumps protect your home from flooding from outside water, though, rather than handling wastewater from inside. A grinder pump macerates, or shreds, solid waste before pumping it onward to the sewer line.

A sump pump can be added to an existing basement. To do this, you will need to use a jackhammer or sledgehammer to break up the concrete and dig a pit. You will also need to create a hole in your basement wall to run the discharge pipe through.

Several factors can impact the cost of waterproofing your basement. Some of the most common cost factors include:

  • Location

  • Square footage

  • Cause of the water leak

  • Type of foundation

  • Accessibility

  • Waterproofing method

  • Materials

  • Contractor experience and availability

  • Engineering reports, if needed

  • Structural and other repairs

  • Permits

If the time has come to install a French drain in your yard, basement, or crawl space, there's a solid chance you've been battling water damage—or the threat of water damage—around these areas. Thankfully, proper drainage should allow you to redesign these areas of your home without the fear of being inundated during the next storm. If you've had to remove a portion of your lawn for an exterior French or curtain drain, consider reseeding your lawn to patch up the spot. You can also take this opportunity to enhance your foundation waterproofing methods or even start thinking about finishing your basement .
