"I recently had my basement remodeled and we discovered asbestos in the drywall that needed to be removed. I called Clean Sweep and a few other contractors for quotes. Matt at Clean Sweep was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions I had regarding the process. He walked me through step by step and gave me and my wife confidence that the job would be done professionally and safely. Matt's team took care of the job ahead of schedule and we were able to complete our remodel in a timely manner. He was also able to recommend some contractors to help with some of the electrical work I needed done. 10/10 experience. I would highly recommend."

"Jeremiah came out and tested the air and moisture and other items to determine if I had mold in my basement. After getting the test results there was evidence of mold and he recommended a company that provides a do it yourself kit for mold remediation. (Not cheap). After getting the items and realizing that there was more work, it would have been better for me to let my insurance company handle this as I do have coverage for mold/fungi. Though having a professional do the work is expensive, from what Jeremiah mentioned, it does not guarantee that the work will be complete or the source of the problem taken care of. He mentioned most companies will take care of the mold but not necessarily the cause of the mold. For this I would have to contact another company."

"Best experience I have ever had with a company! They are on it! I called to check availability. I wasn’t sure what time would work for my very busy mom schedule and I wasn’t sure if I could take time off from work to attend the inspection. No problem! They reached back out to me by text, I was scheduled the next day! Even emailed me the report the same day! Let me tell you about the report! This thing is so cool and so thorough. Maybe I’m just a n*** but the platform that they send the report in has a menu where you can go straight to a section you want to review. It shows how many recommendations for that section in the house. You can cut to the chase and review just the recommended fixes and they provide contact information for contractors who can fix those potential issues! And of course, it comes with a downloadable pdf version, with all the photos included. I’m blown away! No hassle, super convenient. And they were $150 cheaper than everyone else. Hands down will recommend and use their service again and again! Service is second to none!"

"Their staff was very informative and eased my concerns. I have a finished basement and was concerns about how much was going to be affected by installation. Their installer came out the next day, named Matt, he was one of the more professional and hard working contractors I have ever had do work here. He was very careful about disturbing minimal amount of the finished basement to install the system. In my opinion, he went above and beyond keeping the amount of impact to a minimum. He could of very easily had cut more drywall out then he did. He also spent an hour in my attic which had to of been over 120 degrees and he didn't flinch"

Biohazard Remediation questions, answered by experts

Yes, a one-time water leak can cause mold. Depending on the conditions, mold can begin to grow within 12 to 48 hours. The risk increases with the severity of the leak, high humidity, and when water soaks into absorbent materials like drywall. To prevent mold growth, stop the leak immediately and ensure the area is dried completely; running a blower fan for 24 hours is recommended. If you do notice mold, it's best to call a mold removal specialist to address the situation.

Leaving pee on a mattress for an extended period of time will make it harder to remove the moisture, increase the likelihood of unappealing stains forming, and make the urine odor linger for a longer time. Ideally, you should start cleaning a urine-soaked mattress immediately. You can start by spraying a 1:1 solution of white distilled vinegar and water over the stain and then blotting it out. Then, sprinkle baking soda over the affected area, let it sit for 8 to 10 hours, and then vacuum it out. If the issue persists, you might need to dispose of your mattress and replace it.

Poor maintenance can cause some health concerns, although these are more common in commercial misters than residential versions. For example, stagnant water can become a breeding ground for bacteria, some of which can be dangerous to human health, especially when inhaled. Regular flushing of the system before seasonal use should prevent issues like these.

Otherwise, avoid using mosquito misters with pesticides or plant misters with fertilizers near humans. These misters are not designed for cooling sprays around decks or patios, but for more utilitarian purposes.

Embarking on a kitchen demolition comes with its share of risks to keep in mind. Think of potential encounters with asbestos, sharp objects, and power tools—not to mention the peril of structures wobbling or unexpected plumbing surprises. And, of course, you will be surrounded by dust and debris throughout the process. All of the above makes safety gear necessary, or you can consider hiring a qualified professional.

Efflorescence itself won’t turn into mold, but it can cause moisture problems, which can lead to mold. It’s important to address an efflorescence problem as soon as possible, as mold can pose health risks and even compromise the structure of your home.
