"Justin is extremely knowledgeable about sprinkler systems. In addition to resolving the main issue with our system, he was very through in explaining how it worked and steps to avoid future problems. I wholeheartedly recommend A Plus Landscaping for any sprinkler need."

"I have used R&K on multiple occasions. They have done everything From trash removal, site grading and all kinds of landscape projects that I have came up with. They take pride in their work and always go above and beyond my expectations. Steve is an easy guy to deal with and has great customer service. Their prices are fair and I look forward to doing more projects with them in the future. I would definitely recommend them to my friends and family."

"We have used Sergio and his company maybe 4 times for landscaping. Two of the jobs were pretty big overhauls of what our current yard/landscaping situation was at the time. He was professional, prompt, and so affordable we kept adding more and more to our requests. We have been very happy with the completed projects. Sergio stands by his work, and he didnâ t hesitate to replace a tree that didnâ t make it."

Small jobs welcome

"We needed a walk way widened. These guys took out the old regraded and poured the new walk in. Got it done very quick and it looks great. They cleaned up very nicely and raked the yard out when they were finished. I will have them back for more work in the future."

"We actually did a lot of research on the installation of artificial turf, and had a few estimates. We decided on Chaz, owner of Rocky Mountain Turf and Greens LLC. because of the time he took to go over everything, show us past jobs, and the options he gave us. We actually had them come out twice because they did such a great job the first time, we had them do another section. We tried for ten years to get grass to grow and couldn't get it done, we didn't want our lawn to look like a putting green and they managed to accommodate our wishes. They actually did a lot more than all the videos we watched on "how to install artificial turf". We've had issues with hiring local companies where we live to do other projects, but they showed up on time, not high or drunk, and were very respectful of our property and us. I would highly recommend them to any one who wants to install artificial turf, and want it done correctly the first time. I do have to say that anyone who has seen the work they've done is highly impressed and actually can't believe it's artificial turf and the attention to detail they used as it isn't a "square" yard, it is bow shaped and has several trees and plants in the center, and it is surrounded by rocks. I have recommended them to other people and they've ended up using them and are extremely happy with the results. Also, I know there have been people posting bad crap about using "artificial" turf and how bad it is for the environment and I just want to say that I notice not a single one of you are giving up your smart phones, your computers, your t.v.'s or cars and living in caves wearing animal skins and eating wild animals you've caught with your bare hands.... so shut up and get a life, and I would much rather have the water I would use trying to keep my lawn looking like a city park to go to farmers and ranchers, you know the people that give us food to live on!!!!"

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

Determining how many boulders you’ll need for your landscaping project depends on the area you need to cover and how big each boulder is. First, you’ll need to determine how big of an area you want covered, then divide that by the base surface area of the boulders. A landscape professional can help you determine how many boulders will be right for your project.

Plant privet hedges at least 1 foot apart in a trench about 2 feet wide and 2 feet deep. It’s important to space privet hedges relatively far apart due to how quickly they grow to significant sizes and heights. You don’t want to crowd privet plants, or they could overcrowd each other, causing unwanted damage.

It is for the purpose of protecting them from hail because you’ll be removing it soon after the threat is over. However, plastic or vinyl tarps aren’t recommended as a long-term way of protecting your plants from frost because they’ll trap too much moisture inside, which is actually not a good thing for your plants. But in the short term, it’s fine to use even an overturned garbage can to protect a plant from hail.

Yes, you can landscape in the rain, but you should take some precautions to keep yourself and your tools safe. Avoid using electric landscaping tools during rainfall, and don’t mow, thatch, aerate, or rake in the rain, as your tools can more easily tear out roots in the loose soil. Be careful when working on wet grass, and take your time to avoid slipping. Avoid putting in new plants before a particularly bad storm, as heavy rain and strong winds can damage or uproot plants that aren’t yet established.

Consulting your local university extension, Audubon society, or municipal urban forestry program are all good ideas when choosing a tree to plant. You can also ask an arborist or a knowledgeable landscaping company for advice on good trees to plant.
