"Solid-Lift uses a new technology for concrete lifting. In the past, a lean concrete has the consistency of watery mud was used. Solid-Lift uses an expanding polyurethane foam, instead of mud. The hole that is drilled through the concrete is only 5/8" diameter which makes it less conspicuous. And then the foam expands to lift the slab. It dries into a water-resistant barrier. On my job, since water had been sitting under the concrete, extra poly-foam was needed to lift the slab. I have another concrete lift job, and am waiting to see how the finished project holds up. I expect that it will be fine, and then will hire Solid-Lift again."

"I would highly recommend Gutierrez concrete company. They did some repaving of concrete in a patio, and some rock and drainage issues. They were very punctual, highly responsive to our needs when needed to make adjustments, and did a professional job. They went above and beyond to make us happy with their work."

Small jobs welcome

"I wish all contractors/service providers were as professional as Nip & Tuck Carpet Repair. From the initial phone call to completion of the job, this was hands-down one of our best experiences. Ross came out to do the work and he was quiet, professional, efficient and neat. He even brought his own vacuum! First time, ever, that I didn't have to clean up after a contractor left! We are so happy with the service. I wish all service providers were like Nip & Tuck."

"Big shout out to Dil and Cruise for doing a splendid job . They were very courteous, patient enough to listen to my concerns and very friendly. The Job was to lift the concrete and seal the joint and cracks . Time will tell how well the seal will hold especially with colorodo weather but so far happy the result. Thank you Trasher."

"Bryan and Tony at Boulder Ponds have solved several issues for us at our property outside Denver. We bought a house with a fairly large river and two waterfalls that had been only casually maintained for several years before we bought the home. The river and pond needed a full clean out and a pump repair. Bryan solved our issue in a day and a half of hard work. He had a creative solution that looked appropriate, worked for our waterfall, and minimized the impact to our riverbed and landscaping. He also helped us enaure that our water feature has healthy clean water and a natural look that really appeals to us. He told us how to maintain it going forward, and we know he can come help us out for spring turn on as well as winterization. Thank you!"

Concrete Mudjacking questions, answered by experts

Pros often use mudjacking or polyurethane foam injection to level a sunken concrete patio. Both methods lift the slab by filling voids beneath it. After properly compacting the soil beneath it to prevent future settling, the concrete may need to be removed and re-poured for severe sinking.

It’s best not to perform mudjacking in the winter unless the ground temperature remains above freezing. Freezing temperatures can cause the slurry to harden too quickly, compromising its strength and longevity. Concrete is also more susceptible to cracking and splitting in cold temperatures, so there’s a higher risk of damaging the slab during the drilling and lifting process in winter.

Concrete leveling is not typically covered by insurance. In some cases where the shifting concrete is caused by a natural disaster or storm, you may be able to file an insurance claim if your policy specifically covers those circumstances. In most cases, though, you’ll pay out-of-pocket for concrete leveling.

Generally speaking, push piers—or steel piers—are the best option for underpinning, as they reach down to solid bedrock to find support for your foundation rather than relying on soil, which could be subject to the same issues as the soil directly below your foundation. However, the best underpinning method for your home depends on your location, how far down the bedrock is, and the type of soil in your area. Helical piers are usually the best option for sandy soil or in areas where the bedrock is too deep to use steel piers.

The polyurethane used for polyjacking will expand and cure in 15 to 30 minutes. After that point, your slab will be safe to walk on and even drive on in the case of a sidewalk or concrete driveway. Double-check with your concrete lifting specialist to confirm a curing timeline, as products can differ.
