"The work completed was done promptly, quickly and so far the repair is perfect. The quality and efficiency of the work was fantastic.
My only complaint is that I felt like I was slightly manipulated. Here is the story:
The gentleman that showed up to complete the work quickly identified the problem and provided a solution: repair the spring. He had the replacement part and said he could do right then in about 30 minutes (that all turned out to be accurate).  He then provided me a quote of $420. I've never had to have a garage door spring repaired (or any part of a garage door) so I had no reference point to compare the $420, and I had not done any research because I had no clue what the problem was.
That price was more than I expected so I sighed a bit and then he said, "do you have any coupons?". My response was, "no, I do not have any coupons but I found you on Angie's List". He then responded that I then "qualify for a 10% discount". Wanting to get the work done, I agreed for him to complete the work that evening.
He and I started chatting as he was finishing the job and when I went to hand him a check. Through that conversation I learned that that individual repairing my garage door was also the owner and sole repair person/employee. He is a one-man band. His father and he started the business but his father is no longer active. What frustrated me about learning that information was that he acted as-if he was "just some employee" following orders without the authority to make pricing decisions. Perhaps $378 is a fair price for the work repaired - I am not sure. If it is, that's fine; however his behavior and language was misleading.
A quick Google search shows a replacement garage door spring at less than $100. He spent no more than an hour at my home. Thus, his hourly rate is nearly $300 an hour. That hardly seems like a fair price for that line of work.
My frustration boils down to two things: (1) I do not think the price I paid was justified for the complexity and duration of the job at hand; and mainly (2) I feel as-if he acted in a way that was misleading so that he could secure the job in a timely fashion.

"Chris was excellent. He was going to be 11 minutes late and called. 11 minutes later he was here. Tried to repair the deadbolt. That did not work and installed the one I bought. Fixed the problem realigned the front door. Very professional! I hired him them to fix another door. Great professional service. I would hire them again as I did!"

Window Screen Repair questions, answered by experts

Many kinds of window screens, such as solar screens, are designed to reduce the amount of harmful ultraviolet rays that pass through them and enter your home. The materials typically have UV-blocking properties. However, they may not completely eliminate all UV rays from passing through your home. Different window screens are designed for different purposes, and not all are designed to block or reduce UV rays. Do your research to make sure you’re getting the type of window screen to suit your needs.

The screen material you choose depends on your needs. Here are some differences to consider:

  • Fiberglass is the least expensive but needs replacing more often.

  • Aluminum suits almost any job and doesn’t stretch as easily as fiberglass.

  • Pet-resistant screens are more expensive than fiberglass or aluminum, but they’re also wind and weather-resistant.

  • Metal screens, like stainless steel, are the most expensive material for rescreening your porch or sunroom. However, they last for years and are golf ball-resistant.

Yes, professionals can enhance screen durability by using robust materials like stainless steel or fiberglass and employing advanced installation techniques. They provide reinforcement and repair services that extend the screens' lifespan while maintaining functionality and appearance.

On average, it cost $2,900 to rescreen a patio, porch, or sunroom, with homeowners paying anywhere from $800 to $5,200. The cost to rescreen a porch, patio, or sunroom enclosure depends on the size of the enclosure, the extent of the damage, and the materials used to replace existing screens.

Most window screens last for about 10 to 12 years, assuming they are made from quality materials and receive proper care. The lifespan of common materials like fiberglass and aluminum can vary based on weather exposure, as constant sun or harsh winters can accelerate wear and tear. Regular cleaning and basic maintenance can help extend their life. Signs that a screen needs to be replaced include rips, tears, brittle or sagging material, fading, or a bent frame. While small tears can often be repaired, larger areas of damage typically mean it's time to replace the entire screen.
