"This review is well overdue, but the current hot weather prompts me to right that wrong.  We first learned of Huft Heating and Air Conditioning (Huft) a couple of years ago on Angie?s List.  I can?t speak for everyone, but if you agree that it?s a bit worrisome when needing to pay for repairs for one?s home, as you wonder if you can trust the company or repair person, then read on.
My wife and I began using Huft to service our air conditioner more than two years ago and at that time we were terribly impressed with their professionalism and honesty and we felt we could trust them.  Last year our air conditioner was not working well and we began to have Huft look into the matter.  The news was not great, as we had a leak in a coil.  They presented us with our options and answered our questions so well, that we felt very informed and capable of making the decision best for us.  We opted to replace the unit, rather than attempt a repair what might hold for several years, but in the end wind up being money lost.  We purchased a new unit and front the initial informing of options, to the sales of the unit and through the installation and subsequent maintenance of the same; they provided professional and courteous service and instilled confidence in our decision.
It has been nearly a year now and we still feel the decision for the unit was the right investment to make.  It?s a good feeling when you can spend $10,000 on something for your home and still feel as good about the decision a year later.  We continue to use Huft for our servicing and would highly recommend them with no reservations.

Small jobs welcome

"He installed a new toilet for us. I have health issues that require a taller bowl, 19 inches. Or more. He knew that we were senior citizens, so he found an economical yet classy toilet that met the requirements I asked for. He was quick with the installation and left the area cleaner than he found it. He was very friendly and courteous. I enjoyed talking with him, as I had worked for a plumber in my younger days and had done all the bathroom needs up until 5 years ago. A M Plumbing will be my go-to service from now on."

"Two different plumbers told me I needed to excavate and cut up my driveway. Within 30 minutes of Mason from Honest Sewer and Drain arriving, the issue was resolved without any excavation. I’m a customer for life. Thank you!!"

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

Unfortunately, yes. If your well pump continues working when the flow of water is completely blocked, the motor will burn up. The energy has nowhere to go, thanks to the blockage, so it turns inward. The end result? A ruined well pump and a depleted bank account (once you shop for a replacement.)

A handyperson with basic plumbing experience can install a bathroom faucet, like the kind of skills you’d need to replace a P-trap or swap out a showerhead. They may not have deep knowledge of local plumbing code, though. If your faucet installation requires work on the pipes behind the wall or under the floor, hire a licensed plumber with the necessary training and licensing.

Showers frequently experience leaks, most commonly originating from either the faucet or a malfunctioning shower drain. Detecting a leaky faucet is straightforward—listen for the constant sound of dripping water, even after you believe you've fully closed the faucet. In the case of a shower drain issue, it is often characterized by water seeping from the base, usually caused by a deteriorated seal between the shower wall and the shower tray.

You might be able to find your pipe leak by doing a visual inspection around your appliances and under your sink. Don’t forget to check your water heater too. If you find moisture or puddles of water, then you know you’re on the right track—you may need a repair or water heater replacement.

Knowing how to find a water leak can be tricky, but you can try the paper towel method. Lay paper towels on the floor and see where the moisture lands. You can also wrap toilet paper around pipes to locate a small leak.

Yes, you can fit a vanity unit to an existing sink, especially if you plan to custom-build the vanity. With a prefabricated vanity, you’ll likely need to make a few adjustments. It depends on the type of sink, the size of the sink, and the existing plumbing. If you plan to retrofit a sink into a prefabricated vanity, make sure you take precise measurements and that your sink is compatible with the vanity you select. Prefabricated units have a precut sink hole, so you’ll need the size to match your sink.
