"Doug did an excellent job repairing our tile tile floor. He was extremely professional and meticulous in his work. Doug was also very friendly and easy to work with during the repair process. I would not hesitate to refer Doug to anyone else that needs this kind of work done."

Customers say: True professional

"I gathered 3 other estimates for our countertop replacement project, Ron Hernandez Tile & Construction came in with the best bid. He and his team were nothing short of EXCEPTIONAL throughout the entire project. I assumed that the demolition work for this type of job creates a massive amount of dirt and dust so I had major concerns for the safety of our fairly new TILE Floor and the overall cleanliness and attention to detail a crew would observe. I asked Ron many direct questions in this regard. He not only gave me the right answers but he and his team did exactly what he assured me they would do, they protected my floor as if it were theirs and left my floor & home cleaner than they found it. Ron and his team are highly professional, exceedingly expert at their craft and really good people. When we remodel our master bath next winter Ron Hernandez Construction is the only call I will make. I Most Strongly Recommend Ron for any and all of your Kitchen or bath remodel projects."

Stone Countertops questions, answered by experts

Silestone® is heat-resistant, so it can handle moderately high temperatures for a short period of time. That said, exposure to high heat can cause serious damage. You should never take a hot pan off the stove and place it directly on your countertop. Temperatures above 300 degrees Fahrenheit can leave marks or discoloration on the surface. Instead, use a trivet.

Stone can last anywhere from 15 to 100 years before it needs to be restored. You should clean your stone flooring or countertops regularly using cleaners designed for stone surfaces. Stay on top of vacuuming to prevent scratches from deteriorating stone faster, deep clean your stone surfaces using a pH-neutral cleaning solution at least once a year, and reseal the stone every one to five years, depending on foot traffic or usage.

Consider how much and in what way you'll be using your marble countertops. Untreated marble can stain easily and even change color slowly over time. If you're worried about bathroom chemicals or extensive meal prep, opt for a type of marble with more protection against spills.

When it comes to the cost of your marble installation, consider the slab's thickness, overall size, and necessary cutouts for sinks and cabinetry.

Beyond landscaping, limestone has multiple uses. For example, there are multiple pros and cons to limestone countertops, such as a lower cost compared to other types of stone and heat resistance. Limestone is also a key ingredient in limewash, a type of paint with a chalky texture. Other uses for limestone include siding, retaining walls, and mixed into cement.

It all comes down to rarity and demand. Granite rocks with unique patterns or rare colorways like red, purple, and blue are more expensive than traditional designs. Some types of blue granite are extremely rare, like Azul Aran and Blue Bahia, driving the price up even further. The most expensive type of all is a unique design called Van Gogh granite. As the name suggests, it sort of looks like a painting.
