He worked with us to design the final solution (a unique shaped concrete pad with stamp design) which ended up being much less expensive and much more beautiful and functional than the original plan (a wood deck). He went beyond what was asked to make sure he and we would be proud of the result. Allwyn asked great questions, attended to detail, and offered creative changes. We had some challenges with an electrician Allwyn subcontracted. The electrician missed some appointments. Ultimately, the work was completed and the quality was excellent. I look forward to working with Allwyn again."

"I had a small roof leak. I got a few estimates, Excaliber was the lowest although they had a disclaimer that the bill could be higher if they found wood rot. They did find a small amount and there was a small extra charge but I think it was fair. I would definitely use them again after some bad past experiences with roofers, it's nice to find an honest and professional company."

He even met with us after installation to explain the almost incomprehensible PG&E bill. Although not the least expensive bid, his was competitive and I felt he was as interested in educating me about solar and the various types of panels and inverter systems as he was in selling a system. He demonstrated how the array of panels would meet our energy needs and as opposed to some of the other companies, wasn't selling us more than we needed. "Tom Cohen and Joe Sapir were great. They went through the possibilities and options with us, including what we could do with our budget and possibilities for financing. We bought our house as part of a repossessed hillside property, and we had to buy it in "as is" condition with decades of deferred maintenance. We had chipped away at fixing up the interiors over the past ten years, and were ready for a major (and long overdue) overhaul of the exteriors. The house is 1,200 square feet, but the garage is basically two stories with the living area on the third floor. That means a lot of stucco to repair and a lot of surface to paint. We needed new windows to replace the 50-year old ones that were original with the house, along with a new front door and sliding glass door in the back. This included expanding the size of the windows so that they were bigger (and actually up to code). The insulation in the attic was very old and needed to be replaced as well. Our garage door was dented (by a previous owner) and needed to be replaced along with the motor. Our back porch was falling apart, and we needed that repaired and painted. Our back yard had little privacy and was too hot to spend much time in for most of the year, so we also had them put in a large alumawood patio cover that extends over the porch and most of the yard (to the edge of our garden). It was important to us not to just pick a "low bid" contractor and instead to get a company that would do the work with high-quality materials and skilled crews with proper insurance and quality guarantees. We wanted this to be the last major overhaul we have to do on the exteriors of this house. The crews that came to do all of the work were very skilled, and worked with us to make sure they were doing exactly the work we wanted. Each phase of the project went quickly and efficiently, with prompt inspections and "touch-ups" afterwards to make sure everything was done well. Tom and Joe were very responsive and communicated well with us throughout the projects. We are very happy with the work, and we got our money's worth."

"They were good. It was fine as it was pretty simple. They also do handymen work and other things. I was going to try them for something in the house, but they were quite pricey. Their price was very high for the interior work but it was fine for picking up the construction stuff."
