"Sal and his workers are very friendly and accommodating and dress neatly. I had Yuba Sutter Strong trim and removed bushes in the yard. Brought in bark for the backyard planters. Next rock was brought in for a driveway/parking area. Landscaping material was layed out in the front planters and decorative rock was added. Walkways were restored. The sprinkler system was tested. They replaced a wood gate and fencing on the side of the house. Also I had them haul away 3 cabinets, cleaned the rafters in the garage and they disposed many items that were of no use. And to top it off the gave me a complementary law mowing. I would highly recommend this team. I still have a couple more projects for them to do. As I'm getting my house ready to sell."

You should use mulch because it protects garden soil in a few key ways. This extra layer between the ground and the elements protects against erosion, helps your soil maintain moisture, regulates changes in temperature, adds nutrients as it decomposes, and keeps weeds at bay.

Mulching any time of year can attract termites, so there’s no added risk in the fall. The important thing to remember is that termites are attracted to rotting wood, so you need to lay a thin enough layer that won’t trap too much moisture and lead to rotting. A layer between 1 and 4 inches thick should provide all the benefits you’re looking for without attracting termites.

A 50-pound bag of pea gravel equals approximately one-half of a cubic foot. That amount will cover a three-square-foot area to a depth of about two inches. A three-square-foot area with equal-length sides is approximately 1.73 feet by 1.73 feet, or about 20.75 inches on each side.

Yes, a cubic yard of dirt will fit in most standard-size pickup trucks. However, consider the truck’s payload as well as the truck bed dimensions before loading it up with dirt. Soil can be quite heavy, and if the total weight of a yard of dirt exceeds your truck’s payload capacity, you risk damaging the chassis and suspension.

Stump grindings are usually safe to use in soil, but in some cases, it’s not recommended. Wood chips in particular can bind nitrogen in the soil, which will make it difficult for grass to grow. That’s why it’s important to remove most wood chips and use healthy garden soil if you want to cover the stump spot with grass. Large wood chips may attract beetles and could encourage the growth of fungi when they decay, so you may want to remove them when using the grindings.
