"Logan is so easy to work with. He knows his business really well, and I trust his insight and estimates. He got the job done in plenty of time, was able to dispose of our removed tree stumps so I didn't have to deal with them, and still had time to move some boulders around and place them thoughtfully into a really cool looking fire ring. He was thoughtful about cost constraints when I brought him a lot of questions and options, and helped me figure out the best way to rework our yard in the most sensible way. He was flexible with our schedule, and made me feel really comfortable about the whole project. He's a pro, and I really appreciate his help."

"I've had work done many years ago, where the work done by people that were not as professional as Jimmy would only last a few years - all the work he has done has been fabulous, reasonable in price. The work up here has to be done in a special way, and his has been fantastic with how long it has lasted. I am very happy, he has done some special things for us to get the prices as low as possible. If we had somebody else do it, it would probably cost twice as much."

Excavating questions, answered by experts

No, fire blight does not survive free in the soil but instead is carried through insects, animals, rain, or wind during the spring. Keep in mind that it can also spread on tools, which is why you should always disinfect them in between cuts.

Yes, you can excavate in the winter, but it might make the job harder. Frozen ground is harder to dig, and snow or ice can make the work site more hazardous. A contractor may need special equipment and techniques, such as ground-thawing methods, to break through frozen soil. Although winter excavation is possible, it may take longer and be more costly than excavating during warmer months.

Yes. A metal detector is one of the quickest and easiest ways to find your septic tank. However, metal detectors can be too expensive (costing upward of $300 in some cases), and not everyone has a metal detector just lying around. If that’s the case for you, you can also take a long metal rod and poke it into the ground at regular intervals until you hit something—likely your septic tank lid.

No, you typically cannot use metal detectors to find your sewer line. Most sewer lines are made of non-metallic materials such as PVC, clay, or cast iron, which are not detectable by standard metal detectors. Metal detectors are designed to locate metallic objects, so they won't be effective for identifying the path of a non-metallic sewer line. To locate your sewer line accurately, it's best to use other methods.

Yes, most services include site leveling and foundation work. Confirm with your contractor for specifics.
