"John power washed the entire house. A few days later, he appeared with a full crew for the job.  After carefully protecting and covering all of my new windows, the old stucco was preped and the new stucco applied.  The house looks like new and has an updated stucco pattern and we get rave reviewsabout how great it looks.  The crew was very professional and cleaned up everything perfectly when the job was completed.

"Robert had the best price in town.  They arrived when they said they would.  After sandblasting we needed time to do some work on the outside of the house.  I called him when we were done and he was out to do the stucco in a timely manner.  It looks great!  I like that the owner is on the job.  That means quality control of the product. Robert and his team worked fast and neatly.  I'm very happy with the finished product.  Several homes on my street were done by La Mesa Stucco.  They are holding up great so I know my house will be looking great for years to come.  I will recommend La Mesa Stucco to anyone needing this service.  Thank you for making my mom's house the jewel of the neighbor hood.

The entire crew was awesome, this process takes approx. 3 weeks from start to finish as they are restoring your house to a newer than new look with a 25 Year warranty on the Rhino Shield Product and their Labor. The Workers are all pleasant and show up on time, work hard all day and get the Job done right, they are meticulous when it comes to the work they are doing, from sanding and filling of the trim to trenching and treating the Concrete foundation. They are extremely clean and make sure the Sidewalks and other components around the house are not disturbed, An example is they recoated the garage door at the end because there was a slight variation in color, to be honest when they showed it to me I could not see the color Variation but they wanted everything perfect., Our job crew leader worked tirelessly to make sure every little detail was Handled, they even worked with the Rain gutter Contractor and the Gate builder so as to make sure all the time lines flowed together, I would recommend their services to all of my friends and colleges if you want your home to look better than New!

"Company assigned a single painter for the exterior painting of a single level, 2000 sq. ft. home. Painting, including some minor stucco repair, was completed as scheduled in 4 days. Ray, the painter, did an excellent job. Would definitely use again. Highly recommend."

"Frank and his crew were amazing! We had serious water problems and Molina's knew just how to help. They demo'ed our patio, rebuilt it, installed drains and gave us advice for addressing future issues. We will call them back to do more work on our yard soon! Everyone was very professional and it was very reasonably priced!"

Stucco questions, answered by experts

It typically takes around 30 to 60 minutes for a window pro to replace one window in standard siding types, but a window in stucco will likely take a bit longer because of the density of materials. Custom architectural windows usually require a longer replacement process because of the additional fitting and securing required.

The length of time shouldn’t matter much if you stick with lightweight Christmas lights and similar decorations. Those shouldn’t pose risks to your stucco. You should avoid attaching anything to your stucco that could fall because it’s too heavy, which may take part of the stucco with it. Some methods, like using double-sided tape or adhesive hooks, will naturally wear out over time and lead to falling lights, so don’t expect to leave these lights up year-round.

While your stucco repair professional can diagnose exactly what needs repair, it can be helpful to know what to look out for in the early stages to avoid significant reconstruction. Some common stucco repairs include:

  • Cracks

  • Holes

  • Ceiling repair

  • Chimney repair

  • Stucco removal

  • Discoloration

  • Caulking

  • Water damage

  • Foundation repair

You should aim to let stucco dry for at least 48 hours before it rains. While misting new stucco and keeping it moderately moist is important for strength and longevity, uncontrolled exposure to rain can lead to weak stucco that doesn’t bond properly. Rain can also affect the stucco finish and the color unevenly, leaving you with less appealing siding.

One of the most significant downsides to stucco is the installation cost, which is higher than that of many other siding options because getting it to look clean and professional is a labor-intensive process. Stucco can also absorb water, making it an unsuitable option for siding in areas that see excessive rainfall. Finally, stucco can crack and chip, especially in extreme weather, and repairs are not only challenging and require help from a professional who does stucco, but can get expensive.
