"excellent! Cleaned up after themselves. Shopping around they had a fair price. Owner recommended not to remove old material to save money. I decided to do a clean install anyway because their price was reasonable."

"We hired Right Image to do our stucco building. They removed the whole entire five story building stucco , and installed scaffolding for us. They changed all the damaged framework, changed the insulation, and installed brand new windows and applied new stucco all according to our architectâ s request. I couldnâ t be happier with the professionalism and their quality of work. We received numerous estimates but we chose Right Image because of their reviews. Right Image Builders was the only company without any negative reviews which is very surprising in this industry."

"We hired Nova Plastering to fix some improperly installed stucco that a landscape company installed. Miguel and his team evaluated the situation and came up with multiple options and worked within our budget. Once we accepted the quote it was a very fast process to complete the work. The team left a clean and price on-site. Highly recommend them and will hire them again anytime I have stucco work needed. Wish we hired them originally!"

Eifs Installers questions, answered by experts

Most modern egress windows installed in basements open outward into a window well, although some older homes have in-swing windows. Egress windows, like casement windows used in other parts of the home, such as bedrooms and bathrooms, may open inward, and these windows are often larger than outward-opening windows.

A good U-factor for windows is 0.30 or lower, but they can range from 0.20 to 1.20. A general rule of thumb when it comes to the U-factor is that the lower, the better.

The average cost to install an egress window is approximately $3,900, with a typical range between $2,500 and $5,300, though costs can be higher. The final price is influenced by several factors, including the window's size, type, material, and glass quality. Other variables include labor costs, location, excavation needs, and whether permits or a structural engineer consultation are required. The price of the window itself often depends on the number of panes:

  • Single-pane: $100–$400

  • Double-pane: $200–$500

  • Triple-pane: $300–$800

Additional features like window wells or covers will also increase the total project cost. It is advisable to obtain multiple quotes from professionals to get a comprehensive understanding of the expenses for your specific project.

The proper way to install a window well is to measure the window, dig a hole deeper and wider than the window, place a drainage tube and cap, anchor the well to the foundation, caulk the seam, and backfill the hole. The job requires tools such as a hammer drill and auger and some heavy digging. Proper placement and window well installation are critical to preventing water from leaking into the window.

Egress windows require regular maintenance to ensure they function correctly. This includes cleaning the glass, inspecting the frame and well for debris, and making sure the cover or well drains properly. It is also important to check that the window sills and wells are watertight and to inspect and repair any damage to the window frame or seals to prevent leaks and maintain functionality.
